So? Does that mean you guessed correctly, or have ultimate inside baseball knowledge?
  2. RickOShea
    thanks

I hear Verlander left his start today, with an owwwee. Anyone with more info?

I remember driving a manual transmission on snow covered streets in Duluth, during the winter of 1972. Not a lot of fun.

A take-off of the Buttermaker play, except a walk rather than a hit by pitch.

Twins have more emp;ty seats behind home plate, than they have in their own dug out.

How come when a Twins pitcher hits 98-100 mph its referred to a nice fastball. When the other team's pitchers hits 98-100, it's referred to as 'electric'?
  8. RickOShea
Thank God, we're not being embarrassed on national network t.v.

Baldelli; "Good at bat for Gordon. He had a plan, took a gigantic swing, just missed. Wind generation factor on swing was good. We just gotta keep putting the swings in action, eventually the ball will run into it, Very proud of these guys and their effort"

Too much ego.....................swing for the fences, rather than just make contact.
  12. RickOShea
Saw better swings and contact on the LLWS home run derby this afternoon.

Don't forget how fast a couple of injuries can screw up a staff. A blister, broken finger, a comebacker is all it takes. Of course, the same is true of the Twins' staff.

Jax's aversion to water came about from his drinking bottled water while serving in the military. Apparently the quality/taste was not to his liking and thus, he's not a fan of drinking water.
  15. RickOShea
Pierzynski comments on how Jax doesn't like to drink water. "Not a big water guy". Didn't do enough research to explain to the listening audience.

any answer in the range 26-28 mph is probably pretty close, depending upon the exact conditions.
  17. RickOShea
Anyone know the minimum speed for the ball to go from the rubber (or point of pitcher's release) to cross home plate? Without hitting the ground.
  18. RickOShea
    Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. RickOShea
No, Leslie was a far better athlete. DeNiro had a big chip on his shoulder, as well.
  20. RickOShea
Whenever I watch the Giants, I think of DeNiro, umping behind the plate.
  21. RickOShea
    Shame on you!

So, Pete Maki's onnly experience on a MLB field, is walking on one? I would have thought at least some minor league appearances.
  23. RickOShea
And thus, the Miranda slump has been activated.
  24. RickOShea
See, all you have to do is play a team with 20 wins less than your previous opponent.
  25. RickOShea
Yeah, I think he was expecting to get a faceful of ball, Chief.
