  1. Did Buxton get hurt scoring last night? Margot starting in CF.
  2. WAR wins above replacement. My opinion was that Vaz provided the offense to get the win that a replacement player would not have. He only drove in 3 runs so the pitching and defense was needed for the win.
  3. Have a question on WAR for Vazquez. He basically won the game yesterday with 3 RBIs, all of the Twins runs. How much did his WAR change? I think it should have increased by at least .5. JMHO
  4. Don't they just suspend the game and finish the game at a latter date.
  5. How will Lee first PA go? My guess is a double
  6. Someone is getting traded before the deadline. The Twins have 20 position players on the 40 man, which is high.
  7. Correa may not have the range of some SS, but he gets outs with his arm that others wouldn't. Is arm strength and accuracy included the advanced defensive stats (that Correa seems to be below average)?
  8. I was worried when we only had one run on 6 hits. Next thing I knew we had 6 runs on 7 hits.
  9. Would rather have Miranda than Santana
  10. I was disappointed not to see Jeffers catching, so I looked at Ober's ERA when pitching to each. Vaz has caught 7 games with Ober going 39.2 innings with an ERA of 3.18. Jeffers has caught 4 games with Ober going 17.1 innings with an ERA of 8.83. If you throw out the KC disaster to start the season (Jeffers) and the recent Cle poor performance (Vaz), Ober's ERA is 5.06 to Jeffers and 2.27 to Vaz. For what ever reason Ober may feel more comfortable pitching when Vaz is catching. JMHO
  11. The relivers, other than Sands, had a good month of May. My question is who gets optioned of DFA'd when Stewart comes back. My order of relievers based on my expectations are as follows: 1st 4 - Duran, Jax, Okert, Alcala Last 4 Staumont, Thielbar Castillo, Sands, Sands was good in April when the Twins were without Duran, but in May he had a 9.31 ERA. If he has options he should be sent down when Stewart is available. Castillo has only appeared in 2 games, but did well in them pitching 2 inning each. I don't know if he can become the "long" man to bridge a short start to 1st 4 relievers.
  12. Don't agree with PH Krilloff and Larnach. Jeffers could be used with runners on and Margot should never PH for a power bat.when the Twins are down 4
  13. My exact feelings. I would prefer to have AK at first and Farmer in LF. So watch Margo & Santana have good games.
  14. Combination of Jackson and Okert is bad news
  15. I'm all for using Duran to face the 9, 1 & 2 hitters, With 1 and 2 hitters having the highest BA of the 9 starters. For all the complaining about Rocco's management of the BP (including myself when I thought Tbar was toast), in 15 games where a save was possible the Twins have won 12, an 80% conversion rate. (Note: the Twins have 5 blown saves, but came back to win 2 of those games). WPA must account for the batters to be faced because Duran had a higher WPA than Tbar.
  16. I think Stewert's injury impacts the Twins more than Buxton's. Not much to pick from.
  17. Yesterday was a total system failure; batting, pitching and defense. The loss was a team loss, no one person is to blame. Just as the winning streak was team effort, someone different delivering every game. Today, we hopefully start a new winning streak as Castillo has great numbers against right handers, but not so great against left hand batter, giving up an average of .333. WHIP of 1.67 and 2.6 HR per 9. Hope we have a good game at the plate.
