  1. Why clutch stats are noisy garbage: Donaldson has a 12 tOPS+ in 2 outs, RISP and a 146 tOPS+ in Late & Close.

      That is truly bizarre.

  2. Yeah, I can’t really see him peaking higher than a #3 but that’s valuable. I also hope I’m wrong.
  3. I’ve known this was coming for over a day and was biting my tongue in that conversation…
  4. Yep, there was a bug in the page load, should be resolved now.
  5. I recommend you whitelist us, we have at least one new video every day and often more than that. Ultimately, we hope to offer an ad-free version of the site but we can only do so much at once and that's a pretty massive roll-out of various features and offers.
  6. Because WPA is about outcome, not how someone got there. It's a feature, not a bug.
  7. Are you running an ad blocker? Ad blockers also block video content, as they have an ad pre-roll.

  16. Both were free agents years ago, though. The Twins wouldn't have either unless they signed them at free agent prices.
  17. It should also be noted that trading Buxton makes the pitching staff quite a bit worse.
  18. Denny Hocking? I seem to recall he was a pretty decent centerfielder in the early 2000s, though I could be very wrong about that. edit: I looked and wow, Hocking played very little CF. I guess that isn't super surprising with Hunter on the roster. He had a lengthy streak of healthy play for a few years there.
  19. Listen to Viola on a broadcast for five minutes and you’ll discover his utter disdain for modern analytics. He isn’t shy about it.
  20. Can the Twins pitching compete in 2022? Sure. Make all the right decisions, spend the right money, and develop internal options quickly. Is all of that likely to happen?
  21. Every team in baseball had multiple shots at Andrew Albers and none took the plunge. He had to go to the KBO *and* NPB, for crying out loud. At that point, it becomes quite clear what the Twins were thinking. They were thinking the exact same thing all 30 MLB teams thought: Andrew Albers is not a very good pitcher.
  22. Agreed but that means Barnes and/or Smeltzer need to go. I don't care which of them they keep but having three soft-tossing lefties is a waste of roster space. Keep one, two at most.
  23. I will consider it a massive failure if they trade Buxton, the kind of thing that would make me want to see this front office dismissed. I don't care if it's the right baseball move or not, I want to see Byron Buxton in a Twins uniform for a very long time. He's the kind of guy a fanbase can rally around, like we SHOULD have rallied around Mauer but didn't.
