Joe Ryan pitched the first complete game and first shutout for the Minnesota Twins since 2018. He pitched well, was efficient and got plenty of run support. Byron Buxton became the first batter to hit multiple 460-foot home runs in a game since 2013 as the Twins beat the Red Sox 6-0. Down in the minors, Andrew Bechtold (usually an infielder) made his pitching debut with the Saints and struck out the first batter he faced. He featured a fastball that reached 98 mph and a 90 mph slider. Also, Emmanuel Rodriguez had another big night for the Kernels.
