What could be Francona's reasoning for having Carlos Santana batting 6th all season? I don't get it.

Probably because he's a switch-hitter. They've got a lot of lefties to break up in that lineup. Although Brantley certainly does not look like a middle-of-the-order bat. Kipnis may not be either.

I guess I'm of the belief that the better hitters should get more at bats.
