Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Back on the 4th of July, Twins prospect Luis Rijo had the best game of his professional career. He struck out a career-high 10 batters over seven shutout innings and gave up just one hit for Cedar Rapids. Here's a couple minutes of highlights from that performance.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Rijo came to the Twins along with Tyler Austin from the Yankees in the Lance Lynn trade. Fangraphs had him ranked as the Twins' 18th best prospect one spot ahead of Nick Gordon. I think that the pen might be his home curve is plus and flashes higher, but command is not there and A ball hitters can bite on that. FB at low 90s is just average. Great performance for sure, but lots of things to work out.
