ashbury Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 you see other teams bringing up 19-20 year oldsNot unheard of, but when it happens it makes news, which is maybe why you notice. Looking right now, there are 8 players in their age 19 or age 20 seasons in the majors at some point this season. Juan Soto plays for the Nationals. The other 7 play/pitch for Atlanta. Take that for what it's worth. But it's not some universal thing "other teams" are doing constantly.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Boy, that Sanchez HR was hit from almost below his knees. He has some serious power, but not much contact from him this season.
David HK Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Oh, for God's sake. Same old same old. We get into games with the Yankees, and just start peeing our own pants. Step up, Busenitz, and all the rest of you boys.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Busenitz didn’t have it tonight - not sure he has had it any night lately.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 The hits keep coming - I am having flashbacks to playoff series a decade ago. Keep it close then a complete collapse.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 As young and as good as the Astros, Yanks and Sox are the Twins are gonna need a serious influx of talent to break into that group.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Busenitz didn’t have it tonight - not sure he has had it any night lately.Yeah, Busenitz just doesn't look like he's got it in him to get MLB hitters out. I wouldn't be surprised if he was DFA'd at the end of the season/offseason... but at least they've given him a chance to prove that he can't.
MABB1959 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 At the beginning of the year was this BP supposed to be improved over last year? Maybe it did. Doesn't seem like it.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Good game for Belisle to work on the new and improved arm slot.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 At the beginning of the year was this BP supposed to be improved over last year? Maybe it did. Doesn't seem like it. Well, that was supposed to be due to the Reed-Pressly-Rodney-Duke-Rogers core, which was decent, but they're kinda gone (three of them), ineffective/injured? (Reed), and really good (Rogers).

A bit of Jekyll and Hyde for Hildenberger.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 maybe best-of-five twins versus miracle would be a fair fight?
jkcarew Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 This is where time of possession can be so misleading....3 hours in and our pitchers have had the ball for about 150 minutes, Yankees pitchers, maybe 30 minutes. Yet, somehow we trail.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Can we please put Grossman on the bench and find a young possible prospect to play?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Can we please put Grossman on the bench and find a young possible prospect to play? The problem is, having Grossman out there isn't quite as egregious as having Petit or Field out there. There just isn't a lot of position players in the high minors ready yet. Wade and Gordon weren't doing so hot in AAA, and they're not going to start some guys' clocks too early, it seems.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Plus Grossman has the only RBI hit for the Twins and he's hitting .310+ since his activation from the DL. Not an exciting player, but they're gonna keep trotting him out there.
