They could still mathematically get into a 5-way tie for the 2nd wild card.

 

Either team needs to win the rest of their games, have Colorado lose the rest of their games and have things break just right with StL, Mil, Mia, and Pit. Those teams have just few enough head to head matchups that three of them can end at 75 and the fourth one end at 74.

 

I was annoyed that ESPN showed both teams at 0.1% playoff odds (which is basically saying "not zero") and I didn't believe it. Sure enough, it's possible.

 

Ps. This counts the Rockies' probable win tonight (up 6, late).

How awesome would a 5-way tie be?  Walt is calling in sick that morning.  And probably the next one.
