Places to rent in Metro

I'll be starting a job in Roseville with the state of Minnesota in a month. Anyone know of some good places to rent in the area? I'll need something affordable (I'm not going to making big bucks right out of the shoot) but I don't want to find myself in a dive dealing with the related issues, either.

 

I do have the option to rent space from someone should I not be able to find something in time. However I would prefer to move only once. Any tips from those "in the know" would be welcome.
