In an unrelated Twins alumni update, the Los Angeles Angels have signed reliever Juan Rincon to a minor league deal. The 33-year-old Rincon pitched last season in the independent leagues for Bridgeport. Also happening today, Jose Mijares reported to Royals camp after a visa delay.
