Your NL Team

I don't have a NL team. There are teams I'll cheer on in certain situations, such as wanting the Pirates to win this year, or for the Mets to beat the Cubs. Mostly I have teams I just really dislike, such as the Cubs; and teams I really, REALLY dislike, such as the Braves, so I'll cheer on the teams that play them.

Just curious why anti-Braves?

I've decided to try and follow the Brewers a bit. I lived in Wisconsin for 5 years so I at least have some ties to the team, and have people I can bother when I want to make it out to a game.

Sure they don't look extremely competitive currently, but I think they'll have a quicker turnaround than expected by many.

Giants. Lincecum is my all time favorite pitcher, and when you throw in Posey, MadBum and Cain it is an easy choice, not to mention the three titles.

Correction: four. I think you forgot 2016.

Just a carry over from the Ted Turner days, the '91 series and the chop.

That's long held stuff there! Heck, Turner hasn't had controlling interest in the club since 1993. The chop I won't disagree with, though many fan bases have similar stuff, like the Vikings horn.

I cheer for 2 N.L. teams.  The Dodgers, because as a 7 year old in 1965 I was so impressed that this Jewish pitcher for the Dodgers chose not to pitch the opening game of the World Series because of his faith.  I became a huge Sandy Koufax fan.  As a result, I devoured every book Milton J. Shapiro wrote about various Brooklyn Dodgers, starting with Jackie Robinson and continuing with Roy Campanella, Duke Snider and PeeWee Reese.  I also cheer for the Cardinals.  They are a midwest team, have a great tradition (Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith etc...).  They have the BEST fans in all of baseball.  Before Target Field, I took the family to St. Louis several times to see "outdoor" baseball.  Old Busch Stadium and New Busch Stadium were/are GREAT ballparks.

The Vikings horn is culturally insensitive?

I also think their futility in the 90s. Overexposed and not quite getting there so many times.

Is the chop? I'd have Sioux I work with who'd strongly argue with you. I can find a lot of people who've never seen a res that believe it's insensitive, though. I guess I take the opinion of those who are supposed to have been offended over those saying they should be offended.

The lack of titles is disappointing, but also one of the reasons John Schuerholz is drastically overrated. He built for "the streak", never to put the team over the top, and guys like Smoltz and Leo Mazzone have called him out on it.

I'm more the opposite of the question, I'm a NL guy- diehard Cubs fan yes even in the crappy years.  Having moved to Ft. Myers five years ago, I had local options in the Twins and Red Sox and honestly I'd always considered more ties to the Sox due to their long history of losing ala Cubs.  But after moving here let me tell you, it's become so much easier to side with the Twins.  Easier access to the players, closeness to the fields, Twins encourage player-fan interaction, and the fans are usually intelligent and less annoying than the Bostonians down the street at JetBlue
