JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Woke up this morning and my mind was empty except for enjoying the “rhythm of the falling rain” (we’ve really needed it and I love hearing the rain fall). Then I remembered that I promised to do the game thread intro and ….. my mind was still empty. According to The Weather Channel (a semi-reliable source), the TC will enjoy a high of 79 degrees today with a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. I trust that they will hold off until after the game. Tomorrow looks a little more iffy. It was great to see the Twins get back in the “Win Column” last night. One of the most enjoyable things about this team is that after the first week was out of the way, they have managed not to lose more than 2 games in a row. I was also happy that Brian Dozier got me some points in a little “Pick the Stick” contest we do elsewhere. I’m still obsessing about Memorial Day ['http://twinsdaily.com/topic/18081-memorial-day-may-25/]. If you have an interest, please volunteer near you or if you can’t do that, find a way to attend an observance near you. You will find it heartwarming. I’m working on updating a slide show of photos of Veterans buried in our cemetery or living in our area or who are currently serving. Every year, I am struck by how many WW2 vets we are losing and now Korean-war era vets are rapidly joining their ranks. Then later that day, enjoy a baseball game – our national pastime brings us together over the span of generations. Twins host the Red Sox in the afternoon. Just saw Robinson is activated from the family emergency list and they’ve put Schafer’s right knee on the DL (the rest of his body is probably accompanying his knee). That’s it – I told you my mind was empty. Have a happy Saturday and a happy Jack Morris birthday (thanks for the heads up tweet, Corey Provus). Here are the line-ups: Kiermaier CFSouza RFLongoria 3BLoney DHForsythe 1BDeJesus LFCabrera SSBeckham 2BRivera C SP: Right-hander Alex Colome, a 6’2” right-hander from the Dominican Republic. The 26-year-old had a rough outing against the Yankees on Monday, giving up 8 runs in 6 innings. For your Minnesota Twins (okay, the Pohlads’ Minnesota Twins): Dozier 2BHunter RFMauer 1BPlouffe 3BSuzuki CEscobar SSRosario LFHicks CFSantana DH SP: RHP Trevor May lasted just 4 innings in his start against Cleveland on Sunday, allowing 6 runs in the loss. Okay, I have to apologize for posting this so late. I was waiting to find the Rays' line-up and got to working on editing my slideshow and time got away. Sorry for putting it up so late.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Santana DH'ing... interesting. Suzuki is playing 2B with Dozier also. Cool.
COtwin Provisional Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I find Zuk at 2B even more interesting:)
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I guess were planning on them hitting every pitch we throw. It's a new shift. Put your catcher at 2nd.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Suzuki is playing 2B with Dozier also. Cool. Told you my mind was empty today!!
Blake Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Told you my mind was empty today!!You mean it isn't actually going to happen? And here I thought Mr. Molitor was really thinking outside the box.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Told you my mind was empty today!!It happens to all of us. Well, rather most of us, at times.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Seriously, can anyone post a link to the TB line-up???? I'll be happy to fill it in but it appears that Kevin Cash may be really slow.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 And Robinsin for Schafer not a real surprise. And I wonder if it will be Rosario for Arcia, and Bernier for Nunez when they are ready.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Seriously, can anyone find a link the TB line-up???? I'll be happy to fill it in but it appears that Kevin Cash may be really slow.Yeah. I'll help you with that
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 It happens to all of us. Well, rather most of us, at times. According to Trevor May, emptying your mind is a good thing. I hope his mind was totally vacant before he started his game prep.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks for the TB lineup, ChiTown.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 According to Trevor May, emptying your mind is a good thing. I hope his mind was totally vacant before he started his game prep.Next step: breathing through his eyelids.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks for the TB lineup, ChiTown. No problem. I've learned a few tricks in my day from doing them all last year.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Watch us get shut out, but I love this lineup. Young guys at the bottom with speed. Probably the best outfield defensive lineup so far this year. Put Arcia in RF, Santana back at SS, and Hunter at DH, and lookout!
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Need to see a good outing for DJ May today.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Gonna watch the TB broadcast today. Live dangerously.
drunksam Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Coffee or beer? Went coffee, lets hope the game goes well so it doesn't switch. I want to go topless this afternoon.
drunksam Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Gonna watch the TB broadcast today. Live dangerously. Doing the same. Can only take so much Bert and Ernie throughout the season.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I've got a good feeling about May today. I don't think his ERA really reflects how he's pitched this year.
mnsportsgeek Provisional Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 10 pitches. 3 outs. I sense a good day.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Doing the same. Can only take so much Bert and Ernie throughout the season. guess that makes three of us. And as to your topless comment? My car wants to go topless every day! Tuning in late, again. Damn this east coast zone! (Yeah, I'm going with that excuse)
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Okay, a line out and a fly out so far … May looks on it today so far.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 And a strikeout to go with them!!
mnsportsgeek Provisional Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 20 pitches. 6 outs. Consistent. I'm starting the no-no watch.
