Minor Leagues Studs and Duds 4/9/2015

Well, my interest in the Minor Leagues has grown tremendously since joining TD, so I thought I would try writing a daily tidbit on the minors for a quick read in 30 seconds

 

On this opening day, the pitchers, with the exception of a couple, owned the games.  Onto the list:

 

STUD:  Tyler Duffey (AA)  6.2IP, 0ER, 4H, 1BB and 10K  

 

Unfortunately, did not figure in the decision, probably won't be in Chattanooga long

 

 

Pretty Good:  Jorge Polanco (AA)  2-5, R, RBI and 2SB

                        Mat Batts (Lo-A)  5.2IP, 1ER, 2H, 2BB and 7K (win, 1-0)

                        Aaron Hicks (AAA)  2-3, 3runs, 2B, HR, RBI and great defensive play (Exactly what the Twins                               wanted to see from him)

 

 

DUD:  Nick Burdi (AA)  2/3IP, 4ER, 1H, 4BB and 2K  (BS and Loss)

 

Well, seemed a little like his Cedar Rapids debut, but he recovered nicely from that.

 

 

Not quite bad enough:  Chattanooga hitters  20K during their 4-3 loss (3 each by Buxton and Sano)

                                        Alex Meyer  6BB in 5IP, reinforcing the Twins decision to send him out

Aaron Hicks (AAA) #1

Miguel Sano (AA)  #1
