According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Nationals still expect prospect infielder Anthony Rendon (ankle) to play in July or August.

Rendon appeared in just two games with High-A Potomac before suffering a partial fracture in his left ankle last month. The 21-year-old recently said in an interview with the Houston Chronicle that he is likely done for the season, but the Nationals are optimistic he still has a shot to make it back. Either way, it's an incredibly disappointing first pro season for Rendon.

Lonnie Chisenhall was placed on the 7-day disabled list with Triple-A Columbus due to a strained calf.

Chisenhall suffered the injury during Saturday's game. The 23-year-old third baseman is hitting .326/.351/.562 with four homers, 12 RBI and a .913 OPS over his first 94 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level. Jack Hannahan is off to a strong start this season, but Chisenhall figures to be an option for a promotion at some point this summer. Apr 30 - 4:17 PM

Just a bunch of if's and maybe's, not good. Might as well leave Plouffe there, he can't hit but at least he can walk runs in. Give him until July and see if Floriman is still playing well, either try him there or move Carroll over to 3rd and Florimon can play 2nd.

I'm sure Plouffe can play 3rd given time, it's just at the plate he's in the process if having the Mendoza line renamed in his honour.

I say play Plouffe daily for a least a month. However, if Plouffe was moved from SS because he had a wild arm, does it make sense to put him at 3B? I guess I'd rather see Plouffe at 2B and Carroll at 3B. The guy has shown some power, gotta let him play for a while.
