glunn Community Moderator Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Thanks for this upbeat perspective, Parker. If you think that the Twins have a chance at the wild card, then this makes me more optimistic. I just wish that Mauer would get healthy and come back strong, and that some more of the young pitchers get their chances to show what they can do.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Parker, was reading elsewhere about Longoria's power outage this year. Any similarities between Mauer's struggles and Longoria's? I see his BA is only down slightly but his SLG and OPS are down more significantly. I want the Twins to win but then I think that they will be caught in the trap of thinking they shouldn't be sellers -- and I really don't think that they are playoff caliber (or have much potential to be playoff caliber this year). I just want them to look at everything with a clear eye and not be confused by what they should do (regardless of what they tell the fans). Always look forward to seeing what Spencer Tracy's look-alike has up his sleeve.
