From inside his fourth-floor apartment across the Midtown North police precinct, New Yorker Matt Miller noticed a knot of photographers and reporters gathering on the street this morning.

The unemployed English teacher grabbed a Canon digital, and began shooting as Young emerged about 11 a.m., said Miller, 42. Formerly a Royals fan, he said he had to ask about the man escorted by uniformed officers.

His fiancé is from Michigan, Miller said. Her brother is a Tigers fan. “I thought she might be impressed,” Miller said, chuckling.
