I've been thinking through the twins top prospects and since I've loved looking at this website the past couple months, I thought I'd become a member and post my thoughts.

Here is my top 50 list of twins top prospects

1. Byron Buxton, CF - 5-tool player who projects as a possible Mike Trout - Projects as a .300+/20+/100 Runs/40 SB guy

2. Miguel Sano, 3B - Top power prospect in the minors - projects as a .300+/30+ HR/100 + RBI guy

3. Alex Meyer, SP - Top of the rotation ceiling - best stuff in the minors

4. Kohl Stewart, SP - Top of the rotation ceiling - 4 good pitches, could soon become top prospect when others graduate

5. Eddie Rosario, 2B - Projects as a .300/15 HR/good defensive player

6. Jose Berrios, SP - Projects as a middle of the rotation guy with good stuff

7. Kyle Gibson, SP - most polished pitcher in the system - projects as a consistent middle of rotation starter with a POSSIBILITY of being a number 1-2 guy

8. Trevor May, SP - Needs to work on control before he gets the call but it is improving. Could eventually be a power relief pitcher in the majors but right now projects as a back of rotation starter with strikeout potential

9. Travis Harrison, 3B - Huge power potential and is showing it at cedar rapids. Projects as a possible 20-30 homerun guy but its way too early to tell

10. Max Kepler, 1B/OF - Could end up being a top prospect in the coming years. He's either going to be really good, or really bad - but thats in my opinion.

11. Kennys Vargas, 1B - good power potential. A little older for the Florida State League and probably should be promoted soon.

12. Danny Santana, SS - projected as a good number 2 hitter but needs to improve defense.

13. Ryan Eades, SP - projects as middle-to-back of rotation starter but could be a very consistent pitcher. I see a possible Scott Baker

14. Jorge Polanco, SS/2B - his bat has been surprisingly good this year. Signed mostly for his defensive skills, his bat is really coming around.

15. Adam Brett Walker, 1B/OF - As much power as Sano in my opinion, but misses the ball way more. If he limits his strikeouts, he could turn out to be very very good

16. Josmil Pinto, C - good bat, OK defense with decent arm. Could be your next Ryan Doumit

17. JT Chargois, RP - projects as a power bullpen arm - Joe Nathan?? One could only hope.

18. Luke Bard, SP - Has some of the best potential in terms of arm in the minors. He's got the chance to be very, very good but needs to learn to be more of a pitcher rather than a flame-thrower.

19. Mason Melotakis, SP - hard-throwing lefty who projects as a middle of rotation guy or power arm in bullpen

20. Taylor Rogers - Good control pitcher who projects as back of rotation guy

21. Stephen Gonsalves, SP - sky is the limit for the lefty out of high school. Has a chance to move up this list really fast.

22. Niki Goodrum, 2B

23. Zack Jones, RP

24. DJ Baxendale, SP

25. Amaurys Minier, 3B - could be the next big thing in the twins minor league system and time will tell.

25. Stuart Turner, C

26. Michael Tonkin, RP

27. Hudson Boyd, SP

28. Danny Ortiz, OF

29. Tyler Duffey, SP

30. Levi Michael, 2B

31. JD Williams, OF

32. Dalton Hicks, 1B

Think Nate Roberts who has been an on base machine is rated too low. He has not played this year and we tend to forget about him. Angel Mata I believe is no longer in the organization. Outside of that a good list, but who knows what this will look like at the end of the year.

I guess relievers don't get much love. I think Tonkin is almost a sure thing to appear in the Twins' bullpen, perhaps as soon as this year. It appears to me that he might end up being a late-inning, high leverage bullpen arm.

Would you take any of those above guys if they produced the Runs and RBIs needed to win? I would think yes. Plus Sano and Walker are winners
