Comparing ratings - Bowden and TD

Twins Video

blog-0204657001550256991.jpgJim Bowden is releasing his top 200 on the Athletic. I am comparing where he ranks our players in order, since he has the entire MLB our numbers will not conform to his ranks, but will the sequence of ranking conform to our numbers?

In the second 200 he has our number seven Jhoan Duran ranked 181.

#11 Nick Gordon - Bowden has at 177.

At 170, obviously above the last two is Jordan Balazovic. Why isn't he on our list?

Bowden has Lewis Thorpe at 162 we have him at #8.

Bowden had none of the Twins in his 101 – 150 Rating. Do we have that many in the top 100 or are we just a long way from Bowden’s perspective.

Prospect ranking are subjective so not too surprised there would be variance.  I would guess we would only have 3 to 4 players tops in the top 100.  They would be Lewis, Kiriloff and Graterol,  Possibly Larnach but with such limited at bats it is hard to say how he is viewed.

I think about a dozen of our guys that could be in the top 200 need to have seasons where they prove their skills are translating.  Some of those dozen players will fail to drastically improve, some will be injured and some will move up.  Just have to wait and see what happens but I predict more Twins players in the top 200 next year.

I hope you are right.  I am always interested in how our local bias conforms to national perspectives.
