We were excited when our prospects came up and the future looked bright - in 2019 that future arrived and it was great, but we expected a longer run. The foundation was going to be Berrios - I know all the arguments that he is not a true Ace, but he has been our best pitcher and is a solid middle of the rotation arm that we did not build around. 53 - 40 with a 4.11 era for his six years 8.1 WAR.
The expected stars on offense were Sano and Buxton
Miguel Sano - who is in his 7th year
Twins FO is most directly to blame for the team's woes this season so far. Granted, some of Baldelli's moves have been questionable to darn right mind boggling, but the FO has done nothing in ways to provide him with any alternatives. It's been like a carousel of pitches from the minors to the majors of young pitchers. And the bullpen put together at season's start proved to be inadequate quite early.
No effort was seen by the fans from the FO to improve the bullpen. No trades or even a signing of a free agent pitcher, not signed during during this past off season. I know, it sounds fruitless to try and find someone, but at least it would show the fans that the FO was trying.
