We're back in the prospect adopting business and eager to follow the season of one JT Chargois. (A full blog introducing you to Chargois is available through this link--unless site admins would like me to copy paste it here, in which case, it will be here in this thread.

In the first three games of the Miracle's season, he's made one appearance, striking out two en route to a perfect 9th inning and a save against Port Charlotte. More complete stats will be posted each Sunday of the season.

It's time for our bi-monthly update on the latest Twins relief prospect that we are secretly plotting to turn into a single Super Reliever once genetically modified athletes are allowed.

After his debut two weeks ago, JT Chargois had one absolutely disastrous outing. Giving up 5 hits and 4 runs (all earned) while recording just a single out in a thudding outing against the Tampa Yankees. Since then, he's been slowly working his season long numbers back into a reasonable state, making 4 appearances (1 inning each) racking up 5 strikeout versus only 3 base runners (2 hits/1 walk).

In all Chargois' been limited to low leverage situations and kept as a single inning specialist. As he builds back his strength and confidence, he should be able to show of

Chargois Season Stats

G: 6; IP: 5.1; ERA: 6.75; WHIP: 1.50; K/BB Ratio: 7/1; Curveball "Spikey-ness" Quotient: 2.2/5

We've written a new blog about JT Chargois and his long and winding road to recovery/the major leagues

In the mean time, we'll fill this spot with an update on his statistics

G: 11; IP: 10.1; ERA: 3.48; K/BB Ratio 2.75; Curveball Spikey-ness Quotient: 2.5/5

Another fortnight for JT "Spike" Chargois, and another sizable step back towards the big league.

Over the past two weeks, Chargois has made four appearances for 4.2 Innings, continued his streak of innings without an unearned run, doubled his season save total, and most importantly of all he's ratcheted up his strike out totals. 8 of his 14 outs have been Ks. He's not at the top of the impressive reliever lists...but that may yet change.

Here's where Chargois stands on the season.

G: 16; IP: 15; ERA: 2.40; K/BB Ratio: 3.80; Curveball Spikey-ness Quotient: 2.9 (out of possible 5)

Zipp-a-dee-doo-dah! Zipp-a-dee-yay! My oh, my what a wonderful day!!

JT Chargois has been promoted to AA Chattanooga. After one rocky outing in Tampa way back in early April, Chargois has been darn near dominating since. The promotion puts him back alongside old college teammate Tyler Duffy and the vaunted Lookouts lineup.

It's time for another blog post with more detail and personal reflection on JT Chargois' return to the ranks of top prospects.

But we'd be remiss if we didn't include some specific stats

Here's where Chargois stood at the end of his time in Ft. Myers:

G: 16; IP: 15; ERA: 2.40; K/BB Ratio: 3.80; Curveball Spikey-ness Quotient: 2.9 (out of possible 5)

And after the first 10 days or so in Chattanooga

G: 3, IP: 2.2; ERA: 0.00; K/BB Ratio: 2.00; Curveball Spikey-ness Quotient: 2.7 (out of a possible 5)

Totals

G: 19, IP: 17.2; ERA: 2.04; K/BB Ratio: 3.50, Curveball Spikey-ness Quotient: 2.8 (out of a possible 5)

Time for your fortnightly JT Chargois stats! Now with more Chattanooga Chatter!

A full three weeks into his AA Career our buddy Spike Chargois (and I am going to keep calling him that until I'm told to stop), has become a vital cog in the Lookouts' Lights Out Bullpen and has more than held his own against the higher level of competition.

Since our last update he has entered 5 games, pitched 5 innings, given up 3 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4 and did give up his first earned run since April 13th (ending a 19.1 inning run of a Zero ERA)

This puts his AA stats at:

G: 8, IP: 7.2, ERA: 1.17, K/BB Ratio: 1.5 (now that we also have consistent Strike/Pitch ratios it's worth noting that he's at 61% Strikes--71/115)

His overall Totals are

G: 24, IP: 22.2, ERA: 1.99, K/BB Ratio: 2.77

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: Curveball Spikeyness quotient: 3.0/5

Back from Scotland, I wanted to post this statistical update on JT "SPIKE" Chargois before turning out another blog on his recent growth. And while the three weeks since our last update have seen a marked dip in Chargois' appearances, including what appears to be being dropped from the closer role, where he got 5 straight saves up to and including our last post. Still, it's our SPIKE, so we've got hope

Over the last 3 Weeks Spike through 5 innings (1 inning a piece in each of his five outings), he had 4 strikeouts against Montgomery in his first two outings but hasn't gotten one since. He's also given up 2 runs on 4 walks and 4 hits including the first homer he's allowed all season (to the Birmingham Barons Christian Marrero).

That makes Chargois' AA Numbers as follows

G: 13; IP: 12.2; ERA: 2.13; WHIP: 1.58; K/BB Ratio: 1.25; Strike %: 59.9% (121/202)

And his overall totals

G: 29; IP: 27.2; ERA: 2.28; WHIP: 1.34; K/BB Ratio: 2.23

Curveball Spikeyness Quotient: 2.6/5

I'm past due on blogs, this month's takes a look at why even scuffling prospects like JT Chargois are easier to root for than others.

His last two weeks saw 5 appearances including easily his worst outing of the season with what TNLooky2015 pointed out 6 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks, since then he's remained spotty on control (including another 3 walk 2 Run outing against Biloxi--though that did end with a save), but has finally gotten back some strikeouts after two weeks without.

Here's his AA numbers

G: 18; IP: 17.1; ERA: 4.67; WHIP: 1.73; K/BB Ratio: 0.93; Strike %: 58.5% (189/323)

And his overall totals
G: 34; IP: 32.1; ERA: 3.62; WHIP: 1.45; K/BB Ratio: 1.65

Curveball Spikeyness Quotient: 2.1/5

In the past month or so, our boy Spike, has had one heck of a ride. He's been on a shut down run out of the Chattanooga bullpen. In 8 appearances, he didn't give up a single earned run. This builds on a good run from previous weeks and means that he hasn't given up an earned run in 13 innings. That brings him closer to the stretch of 19 innings of 0 ERA ball he had earlier this summer, and makes him every bit the bullpen threat the Twins wanted to see this season.

His AA numbers:

G: 26; IP: 26.1; ERA: 3.08; WHIP1.52; K/BB Ratio: 1.21; Strike 58.5%: (264/451)

His overall totals:

G: 42; IP: 41.1; ERA: 2.83; WHIP1.38; K/BB Ratio: 1.75

Curveball Spikeyness Quotient: 2.8/5
