  1. Going to be a long night for the bullpens I think.
  2. Fun fact: There was some talk of the Northwest Angle (that's what that section of land at the "top" of Minnesota is called) seceeding from the United States 20 years ago and joining Canada - which would make sense geographically. The leaders of the Red Lake Indian nation (who own most of the land) did not support the idea and thus it went nowhere. So, the 120 or so residents are forced to drive through Canada to reach the rest of the state.
  3. Maybe it's just me, but the Twins TV network actively promoting Wisconsin Dells in pregame (and usually some during the game) pieces bugs me. Why not partner with tourist spots in Minnesota? North Shore? Mississippi River Wineries? Walnut Grove and the Laura Ingalls pagaent? I'm sure there is no shortage. I'm sure they would welcome the exposure. Explore MINNESOTA!
  4. Gold is just the windy Kansas wheat fields. Blue is just the Kansas summer sky...
  5. Turley hits 95 as a starter. Melotakis 91 as a reliever. Pretty simple math, actually.
  6. None of what you say change the fact that Chargois was obviously injured at the start of the season. If he wasn't hurt, he would have pitched. Chargois isn't a doctor. He's not necesarily going to know the difference between pain and injury.
  7. No, he did not. He made two appearances in late April (20th and 25th - more than two weeks after the first game of the season) because they thought he was ready. If he had been on the MLB DL, they would have been considered rehab appearances.
  8. It was clear he was injured in April. Frankly, that should have been all that mattered to change his status from optioned to DL. But it wasn't. Once again the Twins organization is bowing down to the almighty dollar. That's why they remain a second rate organization.
  9. I think the Twins might have an issue with retroactively awarding service time and back pay. Otherwise, they would have taken that action in April.
  10. There is no such thing as a 60 day DL for the minors. Once the decision was made in March to option him to AAA and place him on the DL there, that ship sailed. I doubt it would be allowable to retroactively place him on the MLB DL unless his agent was successful with some sort of grievance. Which, frankly is possible and would likely even be successful. He was optioned because he pitched poorly in ST. He presumably was pitching poorly because of the injury. His agent could argue that Chargois should have been medically evaluated prior to being optioned.
  11. Duffey hasn't pitched since the 18th. Kinda odd. Of course, there was no need to use him today or yesterday.
  12. I don't think any other position player pitched more than twice in a single season or more than 4 times total.
  13. Not if there is 0% chance of actually throwing that runner out. Even a perfect throw would still have been way late.
  14. They attempt, but I suspect they fall short. Average rates doesn't take specific runners into account. How many players with above average speed are holding?
  15. Of course there is no way to measure baserunners who hold up instead of testing his arm though.
  16. Other than September of last year, Buxton has a sub .600 OPS. What else but a complete implosion would one call that?
  17. What it suggests though is that your "good" bullpen guys are good but your "bad" ones are horrid. Problematically, you can't rely on 3 relievers to pitch in all the winnable games because you will burn them out.
  18. And Molitor didn't have to use Duffey. I wonder how much of that is Molitor fearing he's already overusing him and how much is that he hasn't done well his last couple times out.
  19. I don't believe Rosario has options remaining. So, sending him down really isn't an option - play on words unintended.
