  1. I'm guessing the trade ends up being pretty meh on both sides here. Glad we didn't sell Dozier for pennies on the dollar. Let them try out forseth. I thought even he would pull del Leon and Stewart though
  2. I can't pass on hunter greene
  3. A 59 win team can improve dramatically if it clicks upstairs for many of our top prospects that have come up (sano, buxton, kepler, berrios, even rosario). I wouldn't be shocked if were in position to trade for a starting SP at the break
  4. Dodgers can shoot for forsythe but I bet it costs at very least Deleon and Stewart with interesting pieces attached
  5. Agreed. Let them look around. I really do believe Dozier comes back strong and don't think it hurts any if it's 1 1/2 years control vs 2 anyway. For me the prospects have more risk in this case due to either lack of experience (lower level guys) or guys on the cusp but dangerously close to losing prospect status altogether. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing another half season of what they can prove and maybe we can find a more common ground on what would constitute a fair trade
  6. They never went after Urias. They went after prospects with red flags such Deleon, Alvarez, Buehler and Stewart.
  7. Dodgers just need to realize how much Deleon should be discounted. Hasn't been successful long. 24th rounder and could be a flash in the pan. Pitching less regularly than college could be the reason for his success in minors. Already 24 and no major league success. Shoulder soreness. Poor pitch selection. Lots of isssues there. Need much more than him and Alvarez
  8. I think that's surprising because none of those offers would have been overly strong. Just goes to show they think they can win without Dozier. If it blows up in their face, they could face a lot of criticism for not having a stronger commitment of winning during their prime opportunity years
  9. Agree. People can laugh all they want but it's important to have a veteran presence and role model for these prospects coming up. I'm glad the front office didn't underestimate that.
  10. It's not that I want him to fail I just don't think he makes majors by all star break. If you read this thread, I wasn't that high on him and didn't really want him to be the centerpiece in the package. I'm glad we are keeping Dozier. More I researched it I think he has a big year
  11. I look forward to seeing how the potential deal works out, but I got to admit I've been pretty discouraged with the packages thrown out on here (including those where it's only Deleon and Alvarez). Hopefully I am pleasantly surprised
  12. Urias pitched for 123 innings last year as a 19 year old. He still has time to be stretched out. At almost 25, it's more of a what you see is what you get
  13. The best rebuttal for not having the durability to log innings is the injury excuse. "Well he logged 114 innings the year before and would have logged more last year but then he got shoulder fatigue". Lol. That's the whole point. Some guys just don't have what it takes to be starters in the MLB. No problem with that. He can still have a role. And hopefully that role is on the dodgers
  14. Sounds like he is a good long relief option
  15. I'd like to trade him but if the deal isn't right you got to walk. Risk aversion isn't good, but not all risk is the same. I'd like falvey to do risk like play the stock market based on known market conditions. Not go into a casino with a hope and a prayer.
  16. Not exactly making his case. Usually a first full year might be around those innings pitch but once you are that close to the majors you should be able to log serious innings. Don't think he can and his pitch selection is not the best. There's a reason why he's 7 on depth chart and more prospects are thought of more highly than him despite his ranking. Friedman trying to cash in on perception vs reality. Did the same thing with Delmon Young. Dozier is opposite. Much better player than perception
  17. If at the all star break, hes still in minors with obvious flaws. Still struggling to pitch innings, being 24 and 11 months vs just turned 24 definitely matters. You seriously question if he's going to put it together. Personally I think he's good prospect but no where near worth giving up dozier for
  18. This is good news
  19. My mistake. My point remains. It does still consider days which is valuable
  20. 6 months is a long time when you are comparing prospects. Thebaseballcube rounds by 3 decimals when talking about age and pro debut. At the trade deadline, people like you would say Deleon is only 24 when the truth is he is closer to 25 than 24 and still stuck in the minors
  21. You keep comparing to kershaw. He was able to pitch 180 innings his age 20 seasons. Deleon is 24.5 and has never shown coming close to that
  22. Our front office wanted it around Bellinger. Your front office wanted around Deleon. I'd take Bellinger and Alvarez
  23. His ERA went up signicantly in those incremental innings. In pros he never has approached that type of workload
  24. Why do you keep comparing kershaw to Deleon? Kershaw was 20 when he was called up to majors and has thrown 200+ innings multiple times. Deleon is 24.5 years old and still stuck in the minors. His first full season in majors is likely to be his age 25 season. And he has never thrown more than 110 innings a season in his career and has experienced shoulder soreness. That's significantly less than other prospects of his stature. One is definitely not like the other
  25. Depends on your definition. Based on yours then neither is Tyler Jay. Still need to convert them though
