If the Padres organizational #8 catcher's value is that of or greater than 74th overall pick, they must have the most talented crop of backstops the league has ever seen. -
This is great news, the Twins payroll is going to be around that of one of the mid level regional auto-dealers next year. There's no logical reason to be concerned about getting payroll so low unless they plan on signing both Machado AND Harper! Hopefully there's a little left over for Keeshaw!

Yeah, my off-season doubts about Kepler not being able to hit lefties is approaching my take after the Liriano trade that Eduardo Escobar was a terrible return because he was instantly the worst player on the entire 40-man roster, but at least Pedro Hernandez looked like a nice long term lefty.

I told my 8-year-old at bed time about the cat/dog debate. He said maybe it's worth giving a shot to breed a cat and a dog to make everyone happy. My five-year-old chimed in and said "Or even better, combine two different dogs then you don't have to have the cat!"

I agree, but there would be room if Buxton were to go to Rochester for a confidence boost. This team could use Wade's on-base skills at in the bottom 1/3 of the line up. Going Buxton-Adrianza-Wilson will kill any kind of extended rally.

I guess I wouldn't try to rate it anywhere on the likely - unlikely scale, but I'd say the fact that plenty of us at the age of 24 thought we knew way more than we actually did only to look back at those years with quite a bit of chagrin and resentment. Most of us turn out OK in the long run.
