  1. Doesn't North Dakota have oil shale to exploit? MN should be looking to invade North Dakota for the oil. That's the American thing to do.
  2. Why would innings be used to measure a pitcher’s work load? Why not pitch count? Some innings are 30 pitches and some are 10. Why would they be considered the same work load? Some guys need 100 pitches to get through 5 innings, while others get through 7. Is the more efficient pitcher putting more stress on his arm by getting more outs per pitch?
  3. Bummer. But probably the right decision to take him out.
  4. I’m loving this Cardinals bullpen!
  5. In all fairness, that was after the bunt. But I’d like to see some more!
  6. Buxton!! Bunt, bunt, bunt your way through this slump!
  7. I never would have taken out Flaherty there. Low pitch count, nobody to second until that inning, and looked completely in control. Only one run. But that’s apparently the way things are going.
  8. You can call him Ehire. You doesn’t have to call him Adrianza.
  9. One of my favorite Seinfeld bits was when Kramer asks him how often he cuts his toenails. “I’d say, every 3 to 8 weeks.”
  10. The latest from Weird Al Yankapitch!
  11. I’m now a bit skeptical about WPA. How is Garver so high for basically one single, when Rosario doesn’t make the list after being solely responsible for 40% of the team’s runs? I know the stat looks at probable outcomes at the time the plays are made, but looking at it in retrospect, Garver doesn’t get up with a chance to tie without Rosie’s homers. Shouldn’t the stat take that into account?
  12. Rosario for MVP? What a snatch and grab job!!
  13. Walks a guy to get to Trout. Turns out to be a brilliant strategy.
  14. I'm not so impressed when the pitcher is lights out and we have good ABs, good defense, etc. I'm more impressed when they don't have their best stuff, when they are terrible, when they are relatively clueless . . . and yet they still manage to beat the White Sox.
  15. Sorry, I went to bed after that post. It was pretty typical. It's up on MLB.com now. They asked him about his home town, and he's proud of his home town. They asked him how many tickets he had to reserve, and it was 100 each night. Harold Reynolds had played in PR for a team, and asked him what team he would have played for, and Eddie seemed to get a kick out of that. It was all the stuff ESPN should have done on auto-pilot, but they had to cut away to other programming. . . . ESPN's like school on a Saturday . . . .
