  1. I agree about getting someone from the outside. I would add that they should look first at the organizations that seem to do more with less, such as Tampa Bay and Toronto, or possibly Cleveland.
  2. I would hope that he talks with the players individually and helps them focus on improving. But that may just be a fantasy. In my fantasy, Gardenhire would take Pavano aside and ask him to be a mentor to a young pitcher who is struggling, such as Hendriks was before he was sent down.
  3. I never knew that. Thanks for the info.
  4. Good one, except the Generals never won or tried to win.
  5. Butera was hitting pretty good at Rochester, and hopefully that can continue. And no one seems to dispute his defensive abilities.
  6. I am not sure it makes sense to attempt a steal when down by 4 runs.
  7. Look at the bright side -- it's looking more and more likely that we will get the #1 draft pick in 2013.
  8. And an error brings in the third run.
  9. Great article. I am hoping that he gets sent down so he can work on his mechanics at Rochester. Parmelee seems like a great kid, but lost at the plate. Also, it would be nice if he could work on his defense, especially as to ground balls hit to his right.
  10. Another interesting report. Hopefully, Hendriks will regain some confidence and come back up this year.
  11. I watched the Angel's telecast and they blamed the loss on Haren's stiff back and on the fact that the Angels had not seen Diamond before. I think that the truth is that the Twins played a decent game and that Dozier is off to a promising start.
  12. We ALL won tonight. Let's hope that this can become a streak and we have stuff to talk about that is more fun.
  13. He looked good to me. But some of the Angels' broadcast crew are carping that the Angels did not do well because they were seeing him for the first time.
  14. TWO hits for Plouffe -- the miracles just keep coming tonight.
  15. I feel like Tom Hanks when he was rescued in the movie Cast Away.
  16. I don't remember the last time that our starter outlasted the other team's starter, but it's a good feeling. Now let's bat around!
  17. On a more positive note, Diamond seems to be getting out of all jams with no runs scored. Go Diamond!
  18. OK, I want him too. And I want him in CF and Span in RF. But right now I am delighting in having a (rare) early game lead.
  19. Let's hope that tonight is the beginning of a LONG win streak.
  20. Is no one here happy that we finally have a lead early in a game?
  21. Now let's get some more runs. It would be nice to build a double digit lead tonight, just in case we implode later.
  22. Hey, we are winning by 3 runs. This is a HAPPY moment.
  23. Maybe the Angels would take the deal if we would also take Pujols and his massive salary? If I were an Angels fan, I would be worried that Pujols might turn out to be the worst move in the history of baseball.
  24. Amen! We need something resembling a ray of hope.
