  1. After 10 strikeouts in one game, it seems like he should be ready (and deserving) to come back.
  2. I just checked this and Plouffe has 8 homers this year in 38 games played. That suggests that maybe he could hit 25-35 homers a year. Less than 44 but still pretty good taking into account that homers don't come easy at Target field. And he has made some good plays at third base.
  3. Probably about as much fun as I had at Angels' Stadium watching Weaver no hit the Twins last month. I hated that.
  4. As usual, I agree with you Chief. I also have some hope that Diamond might be picked for the all star game if he can keep his era low.
  5. He has been clutch, and batting average finally above .200.
  6. Way to go Plouffe -- Cubs' pitcher's era is going up with every at bat.
  7. Now if Plouffe can hit a bomb, this game will be broken wide open.
  8. And Doom comes through with a double. Time to extend his contract.
  9. Doooooooooooooom!
  10. Or maybe even a shutout?
  11. More clutch strikeouts by Diamond.
  12. It's good to see Mauer back.
  13. Great job on this. Thanks!
  14. After early trouble, the "Wall" is holding. Now we need to blast the Cubs' pitcher into oblivion and wear out their bullpen.
  15. This game is not starting well.
  16. That does appear to be his greatest strength.
  17. Not a good first inning for the "Wall." A HR and a triple. I hope that he is also not coming down with the flu.
  18. If Span has the same flu that I have been having, he could end up on the DL. There is a very nasty summer flu going around this year. And if other players catch it, we are going to be losing a lot of games for a while.
  19. Thanks for this article. Very interesting.
  20. I am hoping that you are correct about Hendriks. But when I saw him pitch in Anaheim last month, he seemed to have good control but no out pitch. What is his out pitch?
  21. Another great article by Seth. I agree with those who will be pissed if the Twins spend materially less than the cap this year.
  22. My hope that you will become the manager has been diminished by this post. Hitters need to know that the 0-2 pitch might possibly be a good one, so that they don't lay off it. I agree with whydidnt that a lack of out pitches is probably the biggest factor here.
  23. Many people have been saying that, and that he was asking for too much money.
  24. It's easy to get depressed/frustrated/angry when the team is losing. I have been feeling this way since last year. And I take great comfort in the fact that there are others who feel the same way. We may disagree about stuff like whether Gardy is OK or should be fired, but we share a much more fundamental unity in our perpetual hope for Twins World Series and the Sox being humiliated. So I hope that the passionate debates will continue, but as brothers/sisters, and reserving the vitriol for outsiders.
  25. Before you guys continue with this, I would like to interject that you both have a history of making quality posts and we are all Twins fans here, which is a unifying brotherhood/sisterhood. I love your passion and would love it more if it was directed at people who are truly evil, such as White Sox fans.
