  1. Don't give up -- the Twins now have baserunners with no outs.
  2. A run might help.
  3. 6, Think about Olivia. [video=youtube;tIdIqbv7SPo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdIqbv7SPo
  4. We are watching one now -- Admissions, with Tina Fey.
  5. Yes, I am back. Wife distracted me with dinner and swimming and other stuff.
  6. I wonder what the owners are thinking at this point when they see empty stands.
  7. Lots of football today and tonight. Wife is cooking hamburgers and does not want to go out. The dog and I wanted to go to seafood restaurant, but we took a vote and wife won.
  8. Thanks for posting this.
  9. I moved yesterday's thread. Which model of new phone did you get.
  10. It seems to me that a manager should confine any negative comments to the clubhouse. What good can come from the manager making a negative comment about a player in public? Why can't this be handled in the clubhouse? I don't get Twins postgame shows on my cable channels, but I do get to see Scosia and he seems to avoid making negative comments about players in public. I wonder how other managers handle this.
  11. That looks good to me, and maybe even healthy.
  12. Unless John shows up with Olivia, I don't see how the Twins can win tonight.
  13. That would violate the 8th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
  14. Thanks for that idea. I think that it is worth a try.
  15. Maybe you could post a pic?
  16. I was always looking at Susan Dey when they played that song. There was something innocent yet evil about her that still haunts me.
  17. I was hoping that the serious thread would be filled with comments from people who don't want to deal with the silliness of this thread. So far, the serious thread seems relatively inactive and this thread has not been as funny as usual.
  18. I keep checking the other ("serious") game thread and so far the experiment seems to be failing.
  19. This inning is not starting well.
  20. Yes, my mistake. If only I did not have that darn day job my timing would be better.
  21. This is an experiment so I am not sure. My sense is that it should be OK so long as it is related to the game, but I am hoping that the users of this thread can work this out as it goes along.
  22. Based on the comments of some users, we are now adding an additional game thread for more serious discussion of game events and substantive baseball related issues. This is an experiment that may or may not continue depending on how it goes. Also, if you have suggestions for making this (or anything else) better, please post them here. We care about your opinions and want to do our best to optimize your TD enjoyment.
  23. As an experiment, we are adding this additional game thread for the series against the Rays. The purpose of this thread is for serious/substantive discussion about the game, with less frivolity and off-topic discussion than in the main game thread. Users are encouraged to post in either thread or both threads as you wish. This is an experiment and may or may not continue depending on how it goes.
  24. I just read through this thread looking for policy violations. I was in the mood to delete something, and surely there would be at least a few posts in this thread that needed deleting, but you people are all having an intelligent and respectful debate. Thanks for following TD policy. My personal view is that although Gardy has been dealt some poor cards, it's just time to make a change BUT only if the replacement is someone who brings something new and valuable to the table, like Dave Martinez. I would not be happy with anyone from the Twins organization, because I think that other organizations are doing better with less money, such as the Rays and the Athletics, and I think that the Twins could benefit from someone of stature with new ideas who must be listened to by the front office.
  25. Moderator note: These are matters of opinion that you are stating as fact. That makes posts like this inflammatory. Please be more considerate of those members who may be tempted to respond in kind, at which point the thread will devolve into a flame war and rational discussion will get drowned out.
