Article: MIN 6, BOS 2: Bats Get to Boston Bullpen
Tommygun921 replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If Escobar keeps up his play at even 80% of his current play....there's no reason he shouldn't win the MVP. Even if they don't make the playoffs. Pitching has kept us in more games than not and Escobar along with Rosario have kept the offense rolling seemingly by themselves for most of the year. Pretty crazy.- 56 replies

I think it's safe to say the Twins would have more wins with a different manager. If you switched Terry Francona and molitor there's no doubt in my mind we'd be reversed in the standings with the Indians. His handling of the pitching staff is terrible. Whether it be the starters or the bullpen. He's done a better job lately of letting the pitchers go deeper into games but still miss handles the bullpen. Presley is wearing down and he brought him into a game that was easily won against Cleveland the other day. Could've easily given him the day off. From what I've gathered this is an area Francona excells at. Managing the pitching staff. I also don't care for his constant lineup shuffling and don't believe he's very good at rallying the troops. Although I'm saying that as never having been in the clubhouse. At the same time, if it wasn't for Rosario and Escobar we'd be done already this year, so hard telling how much you can pin on him.

Article: Talking Hitting With "Dink"
Tommygun921 replied to Steven Buhr's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nice write up. Cool to see former players who may or may not have had much of an impact in the majors still be valued by their respective organization to be put into a coaching position.- 2 replies

I think Gordon comes up for a few weeks before Polanco comes back. Assuming he keeps it rolling in AAA. They need to find out what he has before a hopefull playoff spot. As Polanco will miss said playoffs. Once Polanco comes back he'll head back to Rochester for awhile awaiting an opportunity or just make his own. I think Slegers comes up before Gonsalves unless there's a situation where he could stick for a prolonged look. Via injury or whatever.

Makes almost no sense that they called up Cave. He's another left handed hitting outfielder and Lamarre has done nothing but hit since he became part of the Twins organization. Buxton has done nothing but play defense and Lamarre has done both. The past about it all is based off of that Buxton SHOULD be doing this... And Lamarre SHOULDN'T be doing this. But they both are or aren't.

Article: MIN 4, STL 1: Berrios is Back
Tommygun921 replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Phil Hughes....9 pitches is the last 5 days. They're treating him like a rule 5 pick. Just trying to hide him on the roster it seems. Why not cut ties and bring up someone else that can hopefully make an impact? I'm not rooting against him...maybe he'll be the guy that can make that impact. Idk- 30 replies

Article: SEA 1, MIN 0: Twins Get LeBlanc’ed
Tommygun921 replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Morrison looked like one of those guys that has no clue what's going on but runs and jumps in front of you when you have everything under control....only to make a mess of everything and now make everyone's jobs harder when he was trying to help out. -
Yes. I'd say Littel to Rochester says the Twins believe Romero is ready for the bigs. At least for now.

The Twins will snap out of this crap. But it's going to o be to late to make the playoffs...IMO. They need a non politically correct leader that will smash water coolers and throw their uniforms all over the field. Lamarre has been decent when in the lineup so I don't know why it's made out to be a bad thing. But as it's looked so far it doesn't matter how many runs they score as the bullpen gives up 1 more than that.

Article: The Beginning of the End for Phil Hughes
Tommygun921 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Giving him an extension on his contract when he still had two years remaining was dumb. I like Phil and will root for him to find success but I don't think it'll happen.- 63 replies

Article: TOR 7, MIN 4: WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!?!?
Tommygun921 replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How can any organization be this bad at developing home grown pitching? Berrios is the best since who??? And he's about as inconsistent as they come. Seems like the Cleveland Browns and quarterbacks.- 62 replies

Article: What's Going On With Logan Morrison?
Tommygun921 replied to Parker Hageman's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Did Morrison join the Twins after spring training started? Seems about every player that joined late has struggled so far this year. Hopefully he can get things going soon. Twins need him. Especially if they're going to give up a ton of runs. -
Is that Torii Jr the one that played football for Notre Dame? I knew he also played baseball but didn't know he was drafted. Hopefully he plays well and reaches the majors someday.

2,000 Words on Joe Mauer to Celebrate 2,000 Hits
Tommygun921 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Great write up Nick! I especially like the closing comments. In particular "You're as cool as you need to be." Maybe I read more into it than was meant. Perfect for Joe and something I'll keep in mind down the road when my girls get older. Don't change who you are just because you don't fit what other people think you should be. As long as there nothing wrong with who you are. -
2,000 Words on Joe Mauer to Celebrate 2,000 Hits
Tommygun921 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I like Joe Mauer. I don't have an issue with his contract other than maybe he received basically $20 million more than Buster Posey. Who I'd have considered a similar player. (Without going thru the details and statistics) And maybe that he used one huge year to possibly drive up his price. My "issue" (which is extremely tame compared to most) was his inability to stay off the DL or play enough games. The aww shucks attitude never bother me. I'd just rather hear what you actually think....but maybe what he says is what he actually thinks? That being said I've wholeheartedly enjoyed watching Mauers career as I've been a Twins fan my whole life but had a better opportunity to follow them 24/7 starting at the beginning of his career. Mauer will certainly go down as one of the best Twins ever and could've gone down as one of the best catchers ever (definitely was during his time) had he been able to stay behind the plate. I didn't shed a tear but it was a bit emotional for myself watching that last night. Hopefully he can keep playing at a high level and make the decision hard on the front office on how long he continues to play for them. Congrats Joe! -
Article: Logan Morrison: Bad or Just Bad Luck?
Tommygun921 replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Trying to hard to make a good first impression and shifting defense. He actually looks a bit lost at the plate. -
Hopefully Stewart can keep it going. I wonder if he made some changes over the off season or if this is just a small sample size? Good to see nontheless.
