  1. I think the sample size has reached an adequate size that we can extrapolate that to through the rest of the season.
  2. It really depends on the circumstances that leads to the injury. It just might be that funny.
  3. And people thought we'd lose offense from the catcher position.
  4. At least Plouffe got a hit. That's something positive, right?
  5. Me = *Chuckling at his desk uncontrollably while coworkers look at him in confusion*
  6. 5 pages already. The game thread crew is out today.
  7. Nolasco or Pelf. Those are my guesses.
  8. So it's Susannah Hoffs love, not necessarily Bangles love.
  9. Well, the strike outs seem to be carrying over from last year.
  10. That called for the "wah wuh" sound.
  11. I wish I could have seen that move by Hicks. Gladden sounds very impressed by it.
  12. Yeah, that's that same feed as the radio. He does kind of sound nervous.
  13. Is anyone else listening to the game on KTWN? They've had some weird technical issues. Every once in a while there it breaks out into a weird pulsating feedback sounding loop. It sounds like something out of a horror/sci-fi movie. It's kind of cool. Or is that just my radio?
  14. Parmelee has cleared waivers. It seems like the Presley thing is an odd move. He seemed to be a perfectly decent 4 OF for this year. I don't think he's a great player, but he was at least moderately capable.
  15. Rasmus for Diamond. Seems like a fair trade. Now where is that darn sarcasm emoticon...
  16. Sorry to correct you, but the $30 isn't their total profit. There are still taxes and some other things. But you're right, there was probably still plenty of money for Mark DeRosa.
  17. You are correct. The Twins (as with all baseball teams in the MLB) are a privately held company and therefore do not need to disclose their financial statements like a publicly held company would. We go through this same conversation several times a year, with updated numbers from Forbes. These are estimates, and yes the Pohlads are making money, even when the team is bad. That's pretty much all we can say about these numbers. What we really can't say about these numbers is exactly how much money the Pohlads are making.
  18. Hmm... interesting. I'd like to see those same stats for Diamond from last year too.
  19. I agree with you here, except I don't think they should care about the salary and sunk costs. There is some sunk cost with Diamond too (obvious not as much, but you still have to pay him if he's in AAA). The key things is, Diamond is not a relief pitcher (at least not yet). Duensing can still be a fairly valuable LOOGY. It's hard to say that about Diamond.
  20. Well, this answers some roster questions at least.
  21. I saw the "like" after I posted my response. I could have edited to take that sentence out, but, you know... laziness won that battle.
  22. I think Dozier needs some time with Bruno again. Or, it's spring training and no need to get overly concerned.
