  1. What, you already know the outcome of the game? So we can yell out what happened without spoiling your TiVo watching?
  2. Game-time forecast: Clear. Winds blowing in from right field at 1-4 m.p.h. Temperature around 70. TWINS: SP, Nolasco Santana SS Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Vargas DH Pinto C Arcia RF Escobar 3B Herrmann LF Hicks CF TIGERS: SP, Lobstein Kinsler 2B Hunter RF Cabrera 1B Martinez (Victor) DH Martinez (J.D.) LF Castellanos 3B Avila C Romine SS Davis CF ---------------------------- TWO: Today and tomorrow ... Brian's thinking countdown ... go! ------------------------------ Yep... Two More to Go... You gotta play em... one game at a time. Things to Think About: 1. Spoiler -- The Twins did a good job playing spoiler and the White Sox did a crappy job of it so the pennant race is down to 1 game. If the Twins can win today. That'll give the Royals a chance. This is Thought #1... I'm pulling for the Royals. 2. Ricky Nolasco -- His ERA sits at 5.47... His ERA has never been this lofty since 2007... When he was a 24 year old tossing 21 innings with the Marlins. Last Year he was 3.70... ERA+ of 100. Here's the deal... He gets one more start and then 2014 gets tucked away and he can get himself ready for 2015. Please... Please... Please Mr. Nolasco... Be Ready for 2015. We need pitching and we paid good money to you to provide it. 3. Kyle Lobstein -- Rookie Pitcher who toes the rubber for the Tigers tonight. Baseball is a funny game... With the rotation that the Tigers had to start the season and with the acquisition of David Price. You'd wouldn't think that they needed a guy named Lobstein but here they are. 2 games left... 1 game lead and a Lobstein on the mound. He's from Flagstaff Arizona... A town north of where all the people live in Arizona. I'm not sure the question "What is a Lobstein" has been answered but he's done a nice job for the Tigers thus far. 3.38 ERA in 34.2 Innings. 4. Pinto -- He's in the lineup and the game matters... I'll step aside and let people complain about that. 5. Microwaves -- I found myself this morning yelling at the Microwave... "C'Mon... I don't have all day. I think it's possible that my patience needs to be rebuilt.
  3. Just to clarify ... I only dislike them on opposing teams' pitchers.
  4. And it's a WINNAH for KC and they have just now clinched a playoff spot
  5. Hoping to say that for KC in 6 more outs.
  6. Okay, 3-1. Going to the 9th now.
  7. It could be ... in about 50-60 years.
  8. I've actually seen ... worse.
  9. There are tons of Amish in Chicago. They are all sitting at the train and bus stations waiting for their connection to other locations.
  10. Uh oh .... Sox scored. It's 3-1
  11. snepp's personality and all around good-guyedness makes up for it
  12. It's not 'your'. It's 'you're'.
  13. Still 3-0 in Chicago, 8th inning.
  14. I'm often a fan of facial hair, but it can't be just chin hair. I'm not a fan of Amish chin beards.
  15. Don't you remember, out on the kayak?
  16. There's actually a true story behind that but it didn't involve Bark.
  17. Brian, he was shirtless.
  18. I was at a Sox-Twins game with my bro here in Chicago, back when Thome was on the Twins. And my bro starts talking to this Sox fan and they were commenting on the running speeds of Thome and Konerko, and someone asks who they thought would win a running race, and the Sox fan said something to the effect 'It would take a week but Thome would leave Konerko in the dust.'
  19. I actually loved the weather at ModCon, especially at Sunday's game.
  20. These are Konerko's last games, too. Quiet retirement.
  21. Okay, 5 complete, still 3-0, KC
  22. I'm switching between games tonight. Sox are threatening. 2 on, 2 outs bottom 5th
  23. Nope. It's somewhat summery here today and tomorrow should hit 80. Not my ideal 85, but it'll do.
