  1. Omg a hit with risp and 2 out. It’s an almost Christmas in July miracle!
  2. Where have you gone, liriano, santana and radke
  3. Pitching has won in baseball for 150 years and right now we have none. Ryan is inconsistent as a rookie will be. Gray has fallen off the face of the earth. Smeltzer was a nice story ala dobnak but has also since dropped off. Winder is an unknown. Everyone else, meh. The bullpen is a bunch of nothingness outside of duran. The twins would be decided underdogs against any other American League playoff contender (and possibly even some outside the playoff picture). And then there’s this: The twins are top 5 in the AL in many offensive categories, but they do not get the big hits when needed. And everyone on the planet knows those situations win playoff games. So the two biggest things that win you playoff games, pitching and situation hitting, the twins do not do well. This is almost certainly another playoff sweep in the making. Chicago would do us all a favor by getting hot and passing us by
  4. Gray careening back to earth is really bad news for the twins. Right now, the only somewhat reliable guy in the rotation is Ryan, and he’s been inconsistent as a rookie usually is. This rotation would be underdogs against any team who could qualify for the playoffs in the American League. I think the twins are probably the 7th best team in the AL. The team was 27-16 (43 games) on May 24. They are now 22-26 in their last 48. More than half the season playing sub .500 ball
  5. Most fight they’ve showed all night
  6. I’d like to see a rule banning position players from pitching until extras
  7. Past the point of embarrassment now
  8. The twins won’t be going on a similar run. You need to have more than 1/2 of a reliable starting pitcher to win that many games in a row. And if you don’t have that you’d better have a bullpen. Pitching has won in baseball for 150 years and we don’t have any. Maybe they can luck into a 4 gamer here or there, but not with the staff as is with gray falling off the earth and Ryan being up and down
  9. I didn’t say they were going to lose, just that I wouldn’t pick them as the favorites against about 5-6 other teams in the American league. This is baseball, anyone can win a 3 game series. By this logic, the rangers are better than the twins, they just beat us 2/3. So did Arizona.
  10. The games in April and May count just the same, but playing 4 games under over the last almost 50 games (22-26) is more than a blip. The high water mark was 27-16, so we’ve now had essentially a Jekyll and Hyde season. Some of those top 10 rankings will undoubtedly look worse unless the ship is righted
  11. Meh, they did play well against the rays, but they split with Boston way back in April, took 4/7 from seattle and only had a 3 gamer against Toronto so far. That’s like saying the reds and pirates are as good as the Yankees because they’ve split their games.
  12. I can agree with that. just thinking the complete absence of a bullpen and now apparently almost all the starting pitchers has to put us below any teams like Boston and Toronto. We’d be underdogs in a 3 game playoff series with either of those teams
  13. They aren’t terrible, just merely average. I’d say they’re probably the 6th or 7th best team in the American League. And if Baltimore keeps it up, they might be 8th 1 NYY 2 HOU 3 TB 4 TOR 5 BOS 6/7 coin toss seattle minnesota
  14. I’d trade places with their pitching staff
  15. Then again, the reds and Yankees are tied in the 9th after splitting the first two games…Yankees daily is probably melting down
  16. Best thing that could happen right now is for the Sox to get hot and pass us out. Unless you’re a glutton for more playoff disappointment, that is. I can’t even come up with a 3 game series playoff rotation I feel confident in. it’s shocking how well we’ve played against some of the better teams, which I guess is the only reason to have confidence in a playoff series.
  17. Couple weeks ago, first game at Cleveland. June 27
  18. Another one left in scoring position, 2 outs ??‍♂️
