Twins coaching staff could use a house cleaning. Not calling for anyone’s job but is there a single facet of the game that has improved over the course of this season or the last couple? Anything? Yeah, injuries blah blah blah. Lots of vets still playing on an (almost) daily basis and they aren’t getting it done.

Again, I never call for another man’s job (bad karma) but I’d have to believe we’ll have a revamped coaching staff next year. Rocco is almost certainly safe for another year although I have zero confidence in his ability to win anything more than the worst division in baseball.

How much more rope does lopez get to be closer considering the time of year? SSS but Something seems off with him considering how dominant he was for pretty much the entire year in Baltimore. Duran has not been perfect but he’s been pretty darn steady all year. I would trust him more in the closer role

Just saw it. Yeah he seemed pretty unhappy but unwilling to say something bad publicly. The ol’ “say it without saying it”. To be fair there were a couple games where he just falls off the map and loses it around the 4-5 inning. But I agree with the sentiment.

August Homestand Sets up Massive September for Twins
Aggies7 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Just saw that the World Series could run until November 5 this year. Could be really cold. Thankfully there’s zero chance it will be played in Minnesota -
Well the pitching is a big part of it too. Inability for starters to go deep into games. Bad bullpen blowing leads. It’s a combination of our leads always being small and our bad bullpen being asked to get 4-5 innings a game

The orioles would be favored, in my mind. Played the twins tough all year. Toughest division in baseball.

At least the playoff loss streak won’t grow this year, probably. So, silver lining

37th time the twins have scored 2 or fewer runs. Incomprehensible.

Twins 3, Angels 5: Angels Comeback, Win on Walk-off
Aggies7 replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I mean, it can be both. The pitching has lost a zillion leads in games we should have won. But that doesn’t cover the fact that, despite having the luxury of playing in the worst division in baseball, we’ve still scored 3 or less in almost half the games. Been shutout 11 times as well- 70 replies

Twins 3, Angels 5: Angels Comeback, Win on Walk-off
Aggies7 replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Any comparison between the twins and Yankees without mentioning that there isn’t a single team in the central better than any team in the east is a bit disingenuous and misleading. Put Boston in the central and they’re probably in first place. 50 games against Toronto, tampa, Baltimore and Boston is a touch more difficult than the 47 we’ve played against the central. We’ve already played Detroit and Kansas City 26 times and still have worse run scoring output than NYY- 70 replies

Twins 3, Angels 5: Angels Comeback, Win on Walk-off
Aggies7 replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Last night was the 51st, yes 51st, time the twins have scored 3 runs or fewer this season. 45% of their games played. They were top 5 in most offensive categories for most of the first half but that was fool’s gold. There is too much talent offensively for the offense to be this bad for this long. Clutch hitting has been horrific all season. Don’t we have multiple hitting coaches too? Got to think there will be a big shakeup on the coaching staff this off-season.- 70 replies

Dodgers 8, Twins 5: Late Home Runs The Difference
Aggies7 replied to Andrew Mahlke's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Quite honestly the team would benefit from a coaching staff reboot. Especially in the hitting department. Way too much regression and underachieving. Would also be nice to get even remotely close to playing fundamental baseball again. We’ve been god awful in that department for several years now.- 60 replies

Didn’t expect any different but you’d figure you’d have your best shot with Ryan and Gray pitching, but of course they’re not particularly great either.- 60 replies

3rd or 4th place team in every other division. We’re just not very good. You should know what you are by august 10th. The baseball gods would do us a favor by keeping us out of the postseason. wish we could have moved correa when we had a chance. He’s been incredibly underwhelming.- 60 replies

Does it Matter How the Twins Reach the Postseason?
Aggies7 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This team would continue the long string of postseason embarrassments regardless of how they qualify. The mariners would sweep us and at this point we’d probably lose to the orioles too if they somehow got in. Classic twins- 31 replies

The twins are really, really bad at the fundamentals of the game. And they aren’t talented enough to be bad at them. 2nd in time in 3 nights a batter has struck out while attempting to sac bunt (granted these are guys who have been in the minor all year). Then 2 obvious baserunning mistakes in the 10th. The of course the complete inability to manufacture runs of any kind. To me, it’s one thing to boot a grounder in the 9th. It’s another to just be coached poorly and lacking in fundamentals

Blue Jays 9, Twins 3: Blue Jays Crush Twins
Aggies7 replied to Theodore Tollefson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The blue jays are a much better team than the twins, even though they’ve so far split the 4 games. So essentially the twins, if they do qualify for the postseason, will probably be the worst team in the field. Who are they better than? Seattle? Don’t know about that. The pitching gets all the blame but man oh man the offense has been bad for most of this season. The guys who should be carrying the team are not. Maybe we could get another inning out of a marginal starter if we could ever have a lead more than a run or two. -
So will I, unfortunately. If I live a couple more centuries, will I see a minnesota sports title?

We don’t play them until the week of Labor Day. We have 15 games against teams at or above 500 before then. And 3 with Boston who is a game under.

Lol I love white bread. About ten days is the usual life expectancy I get out of it. I would be surprised if we still reside in first place in ten days.
