  1. No way Jose. This was the worst division in the AL and arguably the worst in baseball. Nobody expected the white Sox to be as bad as they were and Cleveland was just as dreadful until the last month or so of the season. 19 games each against the two worst teams in the AL, and two other mediocre teams and the twins will STILL finish 6-8 games under .500, possibly a 19 game turnaround from late May. how could anyone argue, with a straight face, that the team with the worst record in AL over the last 4+ months got a “fine” job from their manager? Yeesh
  2. If Arraez can play, and isn’t because of the batting average title chase, I may actually be ashamed to be a fan of this team. Over cautious about everything is no way to run a team and no way to earn the attention of the fans.
  3. I’m a 35 year old man and have seen 6 twins playoff wins. Six. Too young to understand ‘91 We will never seriously compete until we build a new stadium
  4. One day the perpetually pessimistic posters like me are going to be wrong. I hope
  5. This team is ELEVEN games out now lol incomprehensible
  6. It would be a godsend for correa to opt out and free up that money. Zero point to have an expensive guy like that on a Swiss cheese roster. Thanks for the memories, Carlos
  7. Couldn’t have said it better myself. All the days off and load management, what did they accomplish? Is it because other teams do it and we think we should too? Again, it’s the same as limiting starting pitchers. Other teams do it so we should too. Except we don’t have the bullpen to compensate. Same with giving guys days off. How much of a drop off are the replacements? I think the entire organizational philosophy stinks. Something is rotten from the ground up. Guys are not showing up to the ML with even the minimal prerequisite fundamental skills that this organization made its name on. We have more coaches than members of Congress and guys don’t even know how to run the bases. More numbers for more situations yet we’ve played 46-61 ball for the last 4 months. And where are we at, farm system wise? After we lost two good prospects for a guy we knew had injury issues? Man it just seems like it’s going to be a long time til we break that playoff loss streak.
  8. I never expected Cleveland to get this hot but thank god they did. Imagine if we were still a game or two out? How excruciating the losses would be?
  9. I wouldn’t bet on him being gone. If this were New York or LA, yes. But not MN. Plus this is the FO’s guy. A rejection of RB is a knock on the FO itself. They’re too entwined with the analytics stuff and have the perfect excuse of injuries to break things up. Just my 2 cents
  10. Posted this in the game thread, but if you’re wondering what a baseball team looks like when it completely quits, watch practically any game over the last month. I don’t know how you bring back a majority of the players and coaching staff that we currently have, and I’m not just talking about injury replacements
  11. 316 recognized no hitters since 1876, and the manager decided his starter wouldn’t be 317.
  12. Interesting that Cole, the Yankees ace, was allowed to throw nearly 120 pitches last night. Because his team needed him to. That’s a lot of pitches a month before the playoffs start. Seems kind of risky. Risky like having Aaron judge steal third. Then again, the Yankees apparently don’t have players who fear failure like the twins do (per Levine)
  13. Shouldn’t the organization be willing to change philosophy if it’s not suited to the way their team is constructed? “Oh, this thing we’re doing isn’t working but everyone else is also doing it so let’s not change anything!”. Sounds like a loser mentality
  14. Houston should have a pretty easy road to the pennant, even if the Yankees get healthy
  15. Pagan reminds me of Homer Simpson working at the Springfield power plant. Doesn’t matter how many times he messes up, still can’t get canned
  16. A bum Yankees lineup like that and they still put up 5 runs, which is usually considered a banner day for our offense
  17. I just don’t think it’s in the twins DNA. Molitor got 4 years and he lost 103 games in his second season
  18. I would be absolutely stunned if rocco is NOT managing next year. He gets one more year IMO and not because I think he’s the guy. I just can’t see them canning him.
