  1. I’m sure the many millions of dollars he’s earning to hit .205 make him feel a little better
  2. Never seen a four legged pitcher before! 😉
  3. Last year’s trade deadline acquisitions have been a disaster by and large. Mahle - hurt, Michael Fulmer - era near 6 with the cubs, and Lopez looks cooked.
  4. Gray can’t wait to get out of here and play for some other manager
  5. For the love of god, can someone in the central get hot and bypass us? Who wants to see this team in the playoffs, again?
  6. 96 wins?! Lol the twins would have to go 71-42 the rest of the way! They can’t win more than 2-3 games in a row! Good luck!
  7. Or even if they just drop off a bit. Fall closer to average. Ryan is exciting but he sort of tailed off last season. Ober, good recovery last night but 3 months from now?
  8. You make a good point, I just think you can’t hide the bad guys. They have to pitch eventually. Yes, it’s possible that duran does the job and we add on several runs and make it a non issue. But a 3 run lead in the 6th (yes with bases loaded) facing 6-7-8. That’s a tough call to bring in your stud
  9. To answer the headline question….it can get much worse. 4 months left of this. Things really didn’t fall apart until well into June/July last year.
  10. 12 outs needed to be made. Say duran gets the 6th and maybe 7th. Lopez and (?) are going to have to get the last 6 outs. Lopez and jax have been bad for a month. Stewart has been good but playing high above his career average. Moran is hit/miss. The weaker guys (aka everyone except duran) are going to have to pitch. You don’t trust them in the 6/7 but you trust them in 8/9? Moran was brought in to face 6-7-8 batters. If they’re going to blow the lead, I’d heck of a lot rather blow it before the 8th inning. That way you could maybe run your strategy a bit differently than if you fall behind in the 9th. Plus, I believe it’s a mental letdown to blow a 9th inning lead. Rarely do I see the home team score in the bottom after blowing a 9th inning lead. Plus I like duran for a possible 10th inning with the manfred rule, being a high strikeout guy. We’re just arguing about chair placement on the titanic at the end of the day. You can’t have one trustworthy guy in the bullpen. It’s just never going to work. It looked good early on with thielbar and lopez, but it’s reverted to form. Can’t have a bullpen with one solid reliever.
  11. As I said a month ago, you don’t have to be a great team, but you can’t be mediocre and BORING
  12. 10 chances with the bases loaded this road trip. 0-9 with 5 K’s and 0 RBI. 5-43 with the bases loaded this season. All singles. Pathetic.
  13. Omg I forgot about that. How about a trigger warning next time you post like that lol
  14. I feel like it might be time for an organization reset.
  15. This whole thing ain’t working, gang. That 7th inning can’t happen in the big leagues.
  16. Man, if the starting pitching ever falls off, even a little, this thing will be ugly
  17. “Probably going to win the division” means squat. It’s the worst division in baseball. Was last year too. The white Sox came into this series on pace to have one of the ten worst winning percentages in the history of the game. Same with the royals. Historically bad starts. And let the concerns about the bullpen start. The mix of jax, lopez and thielbar have not been inspiring much confidence lately. If the bullpen reverts to 2022 form, forget it.
  18. I remember last year all the arguments about how starters should not see the lineup a 3rd time yadda yadda yadda. Starters going 6-7 IP and turning it over to a set up guy(s) and the closer is usually a winning formula. The problem with last year was that the quick hook was predetermined. Yes, the starters are doing better this year, but that didn’t matter most times last season. You weren’t seeing that lineup a third time no matter how well you were doing. Let’s hope the days of 5 IP and jumbling together the finally 12 outs with a motley crew of relievers are long over
  19. The better team does not always win in baseball. You play a team 6-7 times a year and anything can happen. Pitching matchups/injuries may work in your favor or not. You may catch a team in a rut or on a run. Over the last ten years or so, the Yankees have been very beatable. That lineup tonight, yeesh. Not exactly Scott Brosious batting 9th. And no Mariano riveras coming out of the pen. This was long overdue.
  20. Living in Yankee country made the last 22 years much, much harder to take.
  21. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that winning the season series against the Yankees is the single greatest thing to ever happen in my life 😉
