  1. Ok well those things will happen when the team has it’s worst collapse in history, right? Like if the twins had kept up their pace and maybe got the 4th seed or overtook Cleveland, and everyone was whining about Rocco, I’d understand it. You play as bad the twins did yeah there’s going to be some repetitive topics.
  2. When is a better time to discuss the manager returning or being fired than the end of the season? Sure you can be indifferent and not be a defender. And you made your argument that you are not defending him. But, there are some whose intentions are different. I saw chief (the poster not the team) get absolutely clobbered by a couple fellow posters for his opinion on another thread just earlier today. It looked more personal than balls and strikes to me. That’s what I’m talking about. It’s right near the top of the page if you want to read it. Today was an end to a rough time for fans. Some people are understandably unhappy. Sheesh can’t we even have a week to complain?
  3. It’s not just this thread. Read all of them on the topic, I’ve read several today. Actually it’s been a months long thing on here where a certain group of posters do not enjoy the Rocco stuff (“drags down the commentary”) as Brock said. What? This is a message board.
  4. Looks like I hit a nerve 😂 No one is questioning your baseball acumen It’s crazy that people are unhappy. You’d think the team had just completed the worst collapse in it’s history or something! “And you do so to those who are really quite studied and on their game about things. ” 🙄 sorry I’ll study harder so I can question certain posters.
  5. Suggesting it won’t matter IS defending him. It’s not his fault they underperformed and collapsed then. It couldn’t be because his impact is minimal. Why are you taking it so personally if people are angry he’s being kept on? Why does it bother you? Who really cares?
  6. And the team responded with a solid effort today to close out the year
  7. Not you.
  8. Let’s hope the packers didn’t provide a blueprint for other teams to beat Flores’ defense. That was ugly when you consider the two missed FGs and a turnover on downs. Way too easy at times for the hobbled Love
  9. It is kind of a TD thing though, to fiercely challenge criticism of any players or staff (outside of the FO- that seems to be ok). It’s always been that way and while I don’t like it sometimes, I do have to give credit. It’s one of the few places on the internet that isn’t a free for all bash fest. It can be annoying though.
  10. Even just managing someone like Royce, who had foot in mouth disease a few times this year. Or benching someone for dragging a**. these things are important in any organization
  11. Oh cmon I’m not nearly that adamant about hating the guy as some are. I’m adamant about doing the most to try and win. I don’t think he gives the best shot to do that. We can revisit this next September. I’m sure we will.
  12. I don’t watch twins games to watch the manager. That doesn’t mean he and his decisions aren’t valuable to the team. ohtahni and judge put buts in seats and sell merch (value). No one is buying a Rocco jersey. At least I hope not
  13. There aren’t many people at the level of ohtani. Or Soto. Or judge. No one is going to dodgers games to watch Dave Roberts. Nor Yankees games to watch Aaron Boone.
  14. Never remotely should have been this close
  15. We lose if they get this onside kick
  16. That was atrocious
  17. Good god it’s still not over this is ridiculous
  18. Because there’s one Carlos Correa or ohtani in the world. Is there only one great manager in all of the baseball world?
  19. Wow we really can’t even get one yard. And nailor? Come on
  20. It’s apples and oranges. Teams get in to bidding wars for players, they don’t for managers. How many manager candidates are there, compared to say top notch starting pitchers or star shortstops? The top center fielder goes in to free agency and teams bid for his services.
  21. Jeeze just can’t completely put it away can we? go for it
  22. I’m not saying you, I’m speaking about the people who seem personally offended with criticism of him.
  23. So if managers don’t matter very much, why the vehement defense of the guy? If they matter little, let’s try someone else. Maybe someone else can tie up the loose ends that even his most ardent supporters have to admit exist. If they matter very little then whoever we put in there couldn’t be that much worse, right? I mean what have they accomplished with him that we can’t move on to someone else? A best of 3 series win against a mediocre team with all the games at home? It only seems like that was amazing because of our terrible playoff history. That wouldn’t create a ripple with most serious franchises.
