  1. While I can appreciate the sentiment, the Twins have a better chance of winning it all in 2016.
  2. There's only one team I can always root for, and unfortunately they're 11-31 right now. I don't have a second place rooting interest. Before 2004 that was the Red Sox, but now they are no more than the Yankees with beards.
  3. I blame Molitor less than many of the people who post here. I think it's very possible he has cost the team a small number of wins this season, which would make us maybe 14-28 instead of 11-31. Not to absolve him of responsibility but this would be a bigger issue if we were in contention. I blame Ryan less than many of the people who post here. All teams have players that perform above reasonable expectations and players that perform below reasonable expectations. We've had the misfortune of experiencing performance below reasonable expectations from too many players, especially on offense and in the bullpen. Many of the people who post here were quite optimistic about this team's roster coming out of spring training. (Look at the over/under thread. 17 of us picked over 78.5 wins and 4 picked under.) I think Ryan felt the same way--that the offense would be productive and that the bullpen would be good enough to get by. GM's can not predict the future. The good ones just make better guesses about which players will do well and which won't. The same holds for owners. The good ones just make better guesses about which GM's will do well and which won't. That doesn't necessarily mean I think either should stay. It's pretty much universally thought that the organization as a whole is in far better shape now than when Ryan took over, but the real question is whether Ryan and Molitor are the best to manage the organization and the on-field team now and in the future.
  4. It's totally fine with me for them to come down and fuel the local economy. And it's currently $0.76 US to $1.00 Canadian besides, so it's not like it's a good investment for those north of the 49th. I just hope the good guys can win again tomorrow. While the tourists may not be pleased with the outcome of today's game I don't think the loss will be enough to make a good Canadian unhappy, especially with the wide variety of tasty barley pop available in the Twin Cities.
  5. I'd be happy to do the honors: WINNAAAAAAAAAAH!
  6. I'm not going to jinx this by saying anything about the next inning.
  7. And you predicted that over the off-season, right? As for me, I was thinking let Nunez go. We don't need him.
  8. Hey, Dick, Dozier can watch the first baseman by looking toward second.
  9. Cripes, take the pitch if you don't think it's a good one to bunt.
  10. Bert talking about quality starts...15 years ago giving up 3 or fewer runs in the first 6 innings was a quality start. But in this day and age I'd call it maybe satisfactory. 2 or fewer would be quality. Wish someone could change the definition.
  11. To clarify, I think the Nunez attempt to advance was a risk worth taking. A perfect throw was required to make it so close that the replay was inconclusive. I'm still just bothered that Rosario was criticized.
  12. Depends on which *** **** ******* moderator is on duty.
  13. So will Nunez If Molitor would throw Rosario under the bus for being safe at third I want to see the same for Glynn and Nunez for making an out.
  14. Sano would have caught that. Or maybe not.
  15. I don't like to like things that I don't like but agree with. So I'm quoting it instead of liking it.
  16. Also a bad move for dogging it down the first base line. TK probably would have pulled him from the game.
  17. If that's the case Donaldson deserves to get ejected for being stupid. One, don't use profanity to an umpire. Two, pick your battles. Don't make a big deal over an inconsequential call on the second at-bat of the game. In other words, don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
  18. In fairness it would be easy to miss it because it was so unexpected.
  19. Here are two people's takes on what they would have done differently based on hindsight.
  20. I'd call Centeno luck, but not Abad. Over the years TR has found relievers on the scrap heap that have made good contributions. Fien was good for a couple years, Jared Burton likewise. I'm sure there are others that don't readily come to mind. This type of signing is valuable, however it should not be the biggest move of an off-season.
  21. Reading this made me think of Andrew Albers. He was great for three games. And I understand he's back in Rochester again.
