  1. I wish Hildenberger were the closer. But either of them or Businitz would have been been a better option than putting Curtiss in that spot.
  2. This loss was on Molitor for not using Hildenberger/Belisle after we got back within 1.
  3. It's true that Kintzler would not have pitched the 8th, but you can argue Belisle might have. In any event they shouldn't have lost a game they scored 11 in, Kintzler or no, and they shouldn't have been 3 hit by James Shields and a Bummer.
  4. I don't fully trust anyone but: 1. Hildenberger 2. Belisle 3. Duffey 4. Busenitz 5. Rodgers 6. Pressly 7. Curtiss (hopefully rising fast) 8. Perkins.
  5. There's got to be better DH options than Grossman. Either get Vargas up here or Park. Or make a trade.
  6. How much could we get the Tigers to eat of Verlander's contract? Or Zimmerman's? I see Zimmerman as a good buy low option if they would eat like half of it. Unlikely I know.
  7. I still think Polanco can be a .280 hitter with good gap power. As little and as poorly as he's played, he just hit his 18th double tonight. Rosario hit is 22nd. Pretty surprising. He's got to pick the defense back up though. Ultimately, I think he can be an above average 2B on both ends.
  8. I thought back-to-back was Belisle's kryptonite? Glad he made it through. Who closes tomorrow?
  9. Impressive and watch to watch Colon do that with that stuff. I hope Mejia is watching closely.
  10. Get Dozier the $%^ out of the lead-off spot. Get Vargas and Garver up.
  11. Most likely. But giving one of them a trial makes more sense than Molitor managing out the string. They intended to bring someone in from outside in 1986 too. They changed their mind.
  12. If only there were things we could do to improve the offense. Like DL Polanco and get Vargas back. And DA Giminez and get Garver up. And try someone else in the lead-off spot. But alas, nothing can be done.
  13. I'd say Molitor's chances of managing in 2018 are 25% at best. Given that, I'd rather give Dougie M or Mauer (Jake) a 2-month try out.
  14. Guys to try out at closer Hildenberger Curtis Busenitz
  15. You're severely over-analyzing it. You still manage within each game to win. You don't let the pitcher hit when you're behind with 6 outs left.
  16. Or your catcher. Or your LF. Or your RF.
  17. Oh good. It's our DH who hasn't homered in 2 months.
  18. Granite playing over Rosario is questionable at best. You already have Castro, Buxton and Berrios hitting. You can't afford to bench one of your 3 best hitters.
  19. If the Padres score here, that's ballgame. Our offense is pathetic.
  20. Gimenez has no value. He's average on D and hits .190. Just say thanks for your veteran presence and DFA him already.
  21. I think Kintzler will be the only one dealt. Perhaps Belisle.
  22. Should have been done weeks ago. A 10-day DL stint followed by rehab and bring him back after 9/1. It's not hard.
  23. I agree on Grossman. A DH who goes 2 months without hitting a HR? Pathetic, I don't care how many walks he draws. At best he's a 4th OF'er and his D isn't good enough for that.
  24. Trade Kintzler, Grossman and Belisle. DL Polanco. Activate Buxton and call up Vargas and 2 relievers. Give Hildenberger the 1st shot at the closer role. Rogers clearly isn't it.
  25. Who'd have figured Matt Belisle would have trade value?
