    Podcasts mostly. Talkin’ Baseball and Baseball Today from the Jomboy Media Network. Free version of Gleeman and the Geek. Realizing more and more I’m more interested in overall MLB topics than Twins specific topics. At least until the Twins pick a direction and stop being so damn boring.

    Committed is a word these college kids don’t hold any value in. Most will transfer if they wake up on the wrong side of the bed one morning. Did you see Carson Beck is now transferring out of Georgia? What a dummy.

    If Allar had a good game he could have declared for the nfl draft and probably be a top 5 pick because the QB class is so thin. Big fan of PSU’s RB Singleton as a Vikings target

    This relationship is off to a superb start… Good lord Cubs. Figure it out!

    It feels slimy to talk about this, but the latest fire that started today is in an area where a lot of Rams players live. It’s going to be tough to balance real life implications players and coaches are facing with their personal lives, and trying to win a football game. They’re either going to play out of their minds to boost the community (Saints 09 post Hurricane Katrina) or they’ll be so distracted they will play terribly. No in between IMO.

    1000% the right decision to move this game. If the same thing was happening in MN I would say the same thing. Emergency services and air space take priority over 1 NFL game. They’ve got way bigger issues to address.

    I need a break from the cold too. Thought I was going to get it this week in Louisville, KY traveling for work. But it’s currently 19 degrees here. Same temps as Minneapolis. The bourbon is keeping me warm tho.

    I’ve got to imagine they have to decide by Friday so travel arrangements can be changed. Honestly it would be tempting to see how much flights cost to get to Phoenix because the tickets to the game are going to be dirt cheap

    No doubt. They’re right up there with the Jets being the most toxic organization over the last 25 years.

    Another 1 and done black HC in the NFL. Raiders are calling on Bill Belichick now. Which would be a hilarious rug-pull to screw over North Carolina.

    Obviously the Mike Ford signing changed everything and now multiple suitors are pursuing the Twins.

    Those are separate from the revenue individual teams bring in every year.

    The total revenue number doesn’t mean much when it’s not distributed evenly. And that’s the unhealthy part of MLB as a whole. The Dodgers, Yankees, and Mets can spend as much as they want and 20 other teams are left trying to figure out how to make it work with their limited revenue.

    Alonso is still waiting for a deal and likely not to receive the $150 million he was previously offered. Baseball is a business and business is not good for about 20 of the 30 teams. It’s January and the Twins are 1 of 6 teams who haven’t spent a single dollar on an MLB contract. 12 out of 30 teams have spent less than $10 million. MLB is an unhealthy organization right now.

    I’ll bet we are worse than 4th most runs in the AL in 2025. We haven’t had a real rebuild in a decade. We’ve been trudging along in the 75-85 win window and that’s not much better.

    This offseason has really highlighted how unhealthy this professional sport is right now. The Twins and Mariners are 2 out of about 10 teams that could contend with another investment or 2 but they’re all stuck in place afraid to spend a single dollar.

    Me too. Just mentioned a current free agent that fills a clear need for the Twins. But they won’t do it. I have no idea why a team like Seattle that desperately needs offense hasn’t offered him a contract.

    We all know it’s the latter. Someone like Pete Alonso would be a great fit here on a short term deal but the budget is maxed out with the Pohlads.
