    As a manager he did. Pete Rose the player did not, and that is the HOF case to consider. It’s a bit hypocritical now to hold him to the flames for the rest of time when every sports league is in bed with gambling organizations… It’s the HOF, not an entry into heaven. His story should be preserved and let people make their own determinations about him.

    I’m a bit conflicted with the poll today because I think we’ll split the double header. Curious if we will end up piggy backing SWR and Funderburk for game 2?

    I’d rather have a large than small HOF at the end of the day. Once they decided to blacklist nearly all of the sluggers/pitchers in the late 90s/2000s that got me interested in the game as a kid, the HOF lost me.

    I don’t feel that way and that’s fine. We can disagree. I think we’ve been perpetually stuck as a hopeful 85 win team if everything breaks right for the last 5 years.

    It feels like we’re falling into the same mindset that kept Terry Ryan around for more than a decade. Falvey’s done some good things for the organization, and leaves much to be desired with other things. Is it unreasonable to expect more than an 82-85 win team in Falvey’s 9th full season as the top executive? I sure hope not.

    I don’t mind the 8:30 AM CT start times early in the season. Game is wrapped up by noon and we have the rest of the day to enjoy early fall weather.

    I’m going to take a wild guess Baltimore wishes they kept him for whatever the arbitration price was last winter… The thing I’ve agreed with most in the Falvey era is not spending significant money on relief pitching. They’re the kings of SSS, and you can always move a failing SP prospect to that role. Coulombe is either a 1 year wizard for us at this age, or a fantastic trade chip if he keeps it up.
