  1. Look at the bright side, at least we're not behind by 9 runs. But then again it would appear that with Bieber pitching the way he is we might as well be.
  2. If Odorizzi can hold the Indians to 5 runs next inning the Twins will be ahead of where they were yesterday.
  3. ...children, what's that sound. Everybody look what's going down.
  4. Now watch Slegers get stiff waiting in the dugout and get blown up.
  5. Slegers looking pretty good so far. And Chris Carter hit his 2d HR for Rochester (15 for the year).
  6. It would nice if Slegers was able to go another 5 to show us what's he got. Of course, he was probably told he was going to pitch the rest of the game no matter how well/badly he did.
  7. So when I was in the Army in my previous life I was stationed at the NATO HQ in Naples, Italy. There was an Italian NCO to whom I explained where "Wossamatta U" came from. He said that was about the funniest thing he had ever heard.
  8. Gophers win Big Ten tournament.
  9. Gophers now up 6-4, still batting bottom of 8th.
  10. Speaking of the Big Ten baseball tournament, I couldn't help but notice that Wisconsin wasn't listed anywhere. I come to find out, courtesy of the modern wonder called the Internet, that the Badgers haven't had a baseball team since 1991???!!! There's an effort to get them back on the field but the AD, our buddy Barry Alvarez, says it'd be just too expensive to restart the program. I wonder how the other 13 schools do it?
  11. The Twins have scored 35 runs in the last 12 games (the pitchers have given up 37). I'm not a roster rule guru, but why not give Carter and Gordon a chance? Carter will strike out as much as Sano but at least he'll hit an occasional double and HR, which is more than you can say for a majority of the current line-up.
  12. But the catcher they got (Villalobos) may be the second coming of Gimenez--he's also pitched in a game.
