  1. If Nunez hits .400 this year a physicist will study why his helmet always falls off, otherwise we'll just wonder.
  2. Too bad he turns 30 in July. Kind of sad if he's as good as he seems.
  3. This fits in with the discussion of how to pronounce the rookie's name and the thing that held up Dozier's game-tying homerung: Boreas is god of the north wind and of winter!
  4. Rosario lacks good judgment; risking getting thrown out at third when down by three runs. Santana saves his a$$.
  5. It's virtual reality here, you can say you're there and tell us about it.
  6. Try throwing it underhanded as an OUT pitch. That might surprise them.
  7. I just read this article today. I'm behind on this one. There are no direct quotes from Ryan, but it seems pretty damning. https://puckettspond.com/2016/04/26/minnesota-twins-needlessly-lost-john-hicks-to-tigers/
  8. The Twins actually have poison - Mauer, Sano, Park - for the first time in a long time!
  9. Thanks! I hadn't seen it. It's great fun. I blame my lifelong fandom on that era of Twins baseball. I learned that Frank Crosetti was the third base coach in 1970. He debuted in 1932. The historical links go way back.
  10. Jepsen is now 2-3. Tragic. He might win 20 games yet...
  11. walk to get to sano one too many times
  12. That's when watching baseball was fun. (I imagine.)
  13. I recently stumbled on "The House of David" - a "Michigan-based religious commune that was founded in 1903. Members of the House of David had to abstain from eating meat, sexual intercourse and shaving/haircuts. Ten years after its inception, the commune formed a barnstorming baseball team originally known as “The Israelite House of David.”
  14. He had a great batting helmet, too.
  15. 1) First inning challenge wasted. 2) Santana slows down going into third. 3) He's safe, but first inning challenge was wasted.
  16. I wouldn't mind. But I don't think Walker (K) is the answer. Palka, I love the idea of seeing him up the bigs!
  17. I looked it up. All these Twins/Senators players have worn #17. Let's hope Berrios is the last one! Doug Bernier (2013-2015) Kendrys Morales (2014) Lester Oliveros (2011-2012) Pat Neshek (2006-2010) Juan Castro (2005-2006) Alex Prieto (2004) Dustan Mohr (2001-2003) Greg Swindell (1997-1998) Jeff Reboulet (1992-1996) Larry Casian (1991-1992) Fred Manrique (1990) Rick Aguilera (1989) Les Straker (1987-1988) Dennis Burtt (1985-1986) Ed Hodge (1984) Bryan Oelkers (1983) Pete Redfern (1976-1982) Bill Butler (1974-1975) Bill Hands (1973-1974) Dave LaRoche (1972) Leo Cardenas (1970-1971) Joe Grzenda (1969) Buzz Stephen (1968) Jim Merritt (1967-1968) Camilo Pascual (1957-1966) Dick Brodowski (1956) Spec Shea (1952-1955) Mickey Harris (1950-1952) Hal Keller (1949) Tom Ferrick (1947-1948) Roger Wolff (1945-1946) Baby Ortiz (1944) Ed Boland (1944) Rene Monteagudo (1944) Vern Curtis (1943-1944) Ox Miller (1943) Dewey Adkins (1943) Red Barbary (1943) Steve Sundra (1942) Bill Trotter (1942) Vern Kennedy (1941) Danny MacFayden (1941) Ronny Miller (1941) Red Anderson (1941) Bucky Jacobs (1940) Bob Loane (1939) Bob Prichard (1939) Monte Weaver (1936-1938) Jack Russell (1933-1936) Bobby Burke (1932) Bill McAfee (1932) Bud Thomas (1932) Lloyd Brown (1931)
  18. How can Bremer and Bert not have been taught how to pronounce Berrios's name. It's embarrassing.
  19. I have never once bashed Molitor, but that challenge - in the first inning - was the worst challenge in the history of challenges, hands down. Makes me wonder.
  20. Thanks for the info. I guess for a brief moment there over the weekend I had a life! I promise to do better.
  21. Any proud/funny stories to tell about Mr. Berrios who appears to be poised and confident in his game?
