  1. Suzuki may make the All Star team, but why, oh why, can he never throw a runner out? Tell me. Tell me right now.
  2. Who on this team is deserving of batting third?
  3. To state the obvious: Parmelee is 0-26 now with RISP.
  4. Now is the time to pinch run. Arg.
  5. A hitter ... went against ... the shift ... I think ... my heart ... stopped. No, I'm okay.
  6. Is anyone else watching/listening to the Yankees TV broadcast? They just said that they continue to be shocked that the Twins don't shift for McCann, and they talked to scout about it, and the scout said "They [The Twins] don't know what they're doing." I won't editorialize.
  7. Whoever came up with the concept of 154 games (then 162) was kind of screwy, I think.
  8. I have same feeling about Escobar. He looks taxed.
  9. It had to be something nice, right?
  10. B-O-T-C-H. The throw was thrown to first way too soon?
  11. He makes an out and his average only goes down to .092. It's hard to fall any further, eh? I found a 2011 article about pitchers hitting and I pulled this quote:"The mean batting average and OPS of these 85 qualifying pitchers are approximately .135 and .340." Ha. Ha.
  12. Cubs have thrown out 8 of 75 ... .107. So it seems there is a team that is doing worse.
  13. Twins catchers/pitchers have now thrown out 7 of 54 potential base-stealers ... a percentage of .130. This must be the worst in the league, if not approaching the worst in history?
  14. Yup, Debbie. I thought that too.
  15. RE Willingham's non-catch just now, LA announcer says, "That ball almost hit him on the toe."
  16. RE: CJ Wilson, LA's announcer says, "... and somehow still in line for a W."
  17. I wonder if there was a competition for naming the team? What were the other contenders, besides Twins?
  18. Great article. Thanks for calling our attention to it. It is s almost without a doubt psychologically uplifting for Morneau, or any hitter, to play in Colorado versus at Target Field ... Colorado as a team is hitting .283 / .335 / .461 / .795 ... As a team they've scored the most runs in MLB, and they've given up the most runs ...
  19. I don't know if they should send him down or keep him up. But we did see him hit the ball AT people ("hang woofums" - ay yay yay - as Hawk Harrelson calls them), not always scaldingly hard, but he got good wood on those balls. So I guess I am saying keep him up. I believe he will come out of this super-slump shortly. Maybe just into a regular slump, I don't know.
