    Someone else had this problem a while ago; the solution is in a blogs thread starting here, but should probably be separated since it occurs in forums as well.     Donaldson is right. What it really boils down to is this: certain actions are deemed politically incorrect on baseball fields, despite the fact they oftentimes wouldn't induce an arrest off the field. Because they haven't been politically correct for years, tradition says it's okay to not only get bent out of shape over these things but also to inflict unlawful punishment on the offender, never mind that I would be arrested for similar behavior. I'm sick and tired of this ... and I'm sick and tired of the Twins' rotten attitude. It reminds me of the kid who thinks he can teach another kid he doesn't like how to stop being a jerk by being a jerk towards him. In school, this would be called bullying. Within a team, it's hazing. But when it comes to the Twins policing Donaldson, for some reason it's suddenly manly. The ironic part about all this is that a lot of male athletes are right winged conservatives who scorn political correctness ... and speaking of which, I can't help but feel like the Twins are having a participation trophy attitude.

    Throughout this whole series, I had this gut feeling that something just wasn't right, that the force of the Rally Roger was in jeopardy. Following some frantic research, I discovered an underground plot with the moniker of "Blue Jays Daily," an unauthorized affiliation which has gone unnoticed by the Canadian government for some months now. Faithfully perusing the ignominious, moderator-less forums of their private website for hours on end, I finally discovered a disgraceful rally icon which has been used repeatedly throughout this season, not so much to lead Toronto's baseball team to victory, but rather to blaspheme the Rally Roger. Of course, the icon had to be destroyed at once; this photo is proof of the culmination of my efforts. Unfortunately, as the series is now over, this may be seen as an unnecessarily vile act by some, but it was an action which needed to be taken in order to protect the sacred image of the Rally Roger. I would like to dedicate this act to Twinsnorth49 and Bark's Lounge. Long live the Rally Roger!

    No. I think in this case it should be Beloved by Toni Morrison or Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Last year I read Crime and Punishment to help get through the Twins' June swoon (reverse psychology and all that, y'know).

    I finally stopped wondering and did the research myself. OTDIH 13 years ago, the Detroit Tigers had just lost their second game of a series in Cleveland to make their record 9-34. At that point in the season, they had been outscored by opponents by 86 runs. The Twins just lost their second game in a series against Toronto, but our record is 10-31, and we've only been outscored by 75. My heartfelt apologies, fellow martyrs. We're not about to make history. As we all know, the Tigers' record for that year was 43-119, coming just one loss shy of tying the '62 Mets for most losses in modern major league history and finishing 47 games behind a different Twins team.
