  1. Dozier is 0 for his last 15, and his OBP is down to .309. By all means, bat him leadoff in a must-win game.
  2. Astute move by Tito putting Ramirez in the leadoff spot, the Indians should have 1 on and no outs for Lindor in the bottom of the first.
  3. Just out of curiosity, how is allowing a hitter to hit for a pitcher not ok, but allowing a pitcher to pitch for a hitter is just fine. If the overall idea is that pitchers should have to play both facets of the game, why don't hitters have to do the same?
  4. For the Ramirez HR thing, I have no problem with the Twins sending a message. I wish Nolasco would have put one right on Lindor first pitch of that at bat, and then stared down Ramirez in the dugout. For those saying it shouldn't be a big deal, realize that while this is just a game to us, it's a profession to the players. Imagine if you have a presentation to your boss, and a co-worker called out everything you did wrong, and then e-mailed a video of that to the whole company. Can anyone honestly say they wouldn't be upset?
  5. Can we have Pelfrey clean out his locker now, or do we have to wait until the end of the season?
  6. Just heard it for time #4. Why, in a game that has been played on radio for well over 70 years, are there not more options to choose from?
  7. Cory Provus is right now raving about Aaron Thompson's month of May, begging the question, has he fallen down and hit his head? I'm not sure what else would make a 4.66 ERA be remembered as "great".
  8. No Lindor? If I could do Sano for Lindor straight up, I probably say no, but I think about it a lot longer than the Indians do I'd wager.
  9. This would be a good time to maybe pitch out, no?
  10. I'm getting pretty sick of the "classic moments from the MLB vault", especially because I've had to listen to Dick call Frank Thomas' 500th homer 3 times already.
  11. Here's an interesting question--does Torii Hunter make the Hall of Fame? The Pro's--350+ homers, 5 time All-Star, 9 consecutive gold gloves, almost 1300 runs and 1400 RBI's The Con's--only a .277 hitter, career OPS below .800, negative career value in both defense and baserunning.
  12. Getting to the Cleveland bullpen early in this game should be the priority mission right now.
  13. Danny already calling for Eddie to bunt. Cover your eyes Chief.
  14. Cory Provus, with Mauer on second-- "This is a scoring opportunity that you just can't not miss"
  15. Cory Provus, discussing Gibson's 7+ ERA against the Indians-- "Gibson is due for a good start against this ballclub" Or, taking the more statistically likely approach, Gibson is likely to get hit hard today against this ballclub.
  16. Danny Gladden on Kyle Gibson-- "When he gives up home runs, it seems to hurt him" That's some next-level analysis right there.
  17. Twins now have 8 guys with 10+ homers on the year (Hicks, Dozier, Mauer, Hunter, Plouffe, Sano, Escobar, and Rosario). I have to think that's a club record.
  18. Maybe it's time for AmericInn to stop encouraging people to log on to their website to "start planning their summer road trip". I think that ship has sailed.
  19. The thread is about grading the Twins moves/non-moves at the deadline. The poster I was responding to said he wanted to trade for Tulo because he thought he'd be better than Esco this year and next, implying he (the poster) is knocking the Twins for not getting Tulo. I responded saying I give the Twins credit for not going for the "headline name" trade by not getting Tulo. Whether you like it or not, the Tulo non-trade is one of the 5-10 biggest TD storylines of the season, and it's going to be discussed, especially when we're talking about trades and non-trades.
  20. I wouldn't have gone for that deal. I would if it were 2011 or 2012, but 2015 Tulowitzki is a grenade about to explode. I'd be very surprised if he puts up more than 10-15 WAR over the last 5 years of his contract. Gibson has been a 2 WAR player the last 2 years, and if given consistent playing time, I think Polanco and Kepler are 2 WAR players at minimum too.
  21. Do we know it wouldn't have taken Buxton or Sano? I've not seen anything either confirming or denying this. Let's say it wouldn't, aren't we talking Gibson or Berrios, plus Polanco or Kepler, plus something else? I'm not exactly excited about that trade either...
