    Play-off pipe dream over. No reason to start burning option years or keep Veterans that can help other teams. Trade off what they can and stock up on prospects...

    Joe is a competitor through and through, no way he served those up on purpose. He may have somehow been tipping his pitches, or he just didn't have much movement on his pitches. I did notice that he was sitting 95+ in the first, but was down to 91 in the third, and not much higher for the fourth.

    Looking at Spotrac Contracts, there aren't too many comparisons for Bradley by age and years of team control: Logan Webb is probably the closest I saw, He signed an extension before his age 27 season that bought out his last 2 years of Arb and his first 3 years of FA, 5 years/$90 MM and he's a FA before his age 32 season Brandon Pfaadt signed an extension before his age 27 season that bought out his last year of pre-arb, all 3 years of Arb, and 1st year of FA, 5 year/$45 MM guaranteed contract, with a team option of $21 MM, with a $1 MM buyout, with a possible mutual option of $21MM - 7 years/$90 MM total contract if options are picked up and he's a FA again before his age 34 season. Tanner Bibee signed an extension before his age 26 season that bought out his last year of pre-arb, all 3 years of Arb, and his 1st year of FA - 5 years/$48 MM with a $1MM buyout of a team option for his 2nd year of FA. If the option is picked up the contract becomes 6 years/$68 MM and he's a FA again before his age 32 season. There are others that have contracts that bought out more pre-arb, were International signings, or were just too long ago, but these 3 give a pretty good idea what a Bradley extension would look like.

    A needed split against CLE just became a needed 3-1 series win, even with a potential 4-2 homestand against ATH and KC. The Cubs are a solid team, but the Twins played like a beer-league softball team after Friday's win; bad PAs, bad baserunning, bad fielding, and bad SP.

    Let's call it "wanting to do more than the play allowed" or a "hustle mistake" on Lee's part. The play and the runners were in front of him, and Caratini was planted firmly on second base and Bell was in no-man's land. Maybe Lee assumed a run-down and that's why he ventured too close to second.

    Bell did right by waiting to see if it was caught, but screwed up by jogging to third, I can only assume he didn't think the ball bounced that far away, and screwed up worse by running through the stop sign at third. Lee did right by hustling out of the box, but screwed up by not keeping an eye on Caratini, and screwed up worse by getting to close to second base. Everything the team has done right over the last 6-8 weeks came undone in one play...
