  1. It sounds like Victorino is going to the Dodgers
  2. Signing Lincecum is definitely a pipedream, seeing as he isn't a free agent
  3. In 2 days you've got the Twins landing Justin Upton for Span and Dylan Bundy for Morneau-Willingham. Just please stop already troll
  4. This is laughable. I think he's serious too
  5. Yes, but I would offer him 12.5 for next year if they don't trade him, so the trade better bring back more than 2 draft picks would
  6. MEOW 3 in the top 39 is pretty good, he also commented in his chat that Arcia would make his next 25. They all seem like pretty fair rankings to me. Buxton has the chance to move up if his production can match his tools. Sano needs to make more contact in order to be a top tier prospect, especially when he'll more than likely play a corner OF or 1B
  7. Twins on the list: 18) Byron Buxton 26) Miguel Sano 39) Eddie Rosario
  8. Really? There's "no way" Buxton ranks ahead of those guys? When ESPN, BA, and others release their mid-season rankings, I would say its nearly a guarantee Buxton is top 3 in Org. I will take the scouts opinion over someone who is more than likely looking at Buxtons stats thru 3 weeks of his pro career
  9. To those arguing that the team needs to make the playoffs. So a player can not have value unless he plays on one of the 10 playoff teams? Is it the "Most Valuable to a Playoff team Player"? Matt Kemp had extreme value to the Dodgers last year, and was robbed of the award. If he takes the Dodgers from a 70 win team to an 80 win team, and Ryan Braun takes the Brewers from a 87 win team to a 91 win team, wasn't Kemp more valuable? Or do his stats not matter since his 24 other teammates weren't good enough?
  10. It seems like almost every poster in this thread has ignored Arcia. I would be much more excited about a Arcia, Hicks, Benson outfield in 2014. If Revere is one of the starters in 2014 he will have proven me very wrong, or one of the other prospects must have fizzled out
  11. Simmons is a rare case that really compares to no one in the Twins system IMO. He is an elite defensive SS, and was clearly ready to play SS for a major league team. The Braves called him up because he immediately shored up their middle IF and didn't expect/need much from his bat.
  12. We will see how it pans out, agree to disagree. BTW, Joe Benson and Chris Parmelee had each played more than 210 games in AA before getting called up. They were also both 23 at the time.
  13. Is this a joke? You are "not sure you'd call him a bust just yet"? So you're saying you are going to give him more than 2 weeks before writing him off? Good job! Pat yourself on the back!! If he's not hitting .350 by August we can DEFINITELY write him off then.
  14. Valencia was called up in June because they needed him to play 3rd base. I have never seen Arcia play, but I highly doubt they will want to rush him along and start his service clock in meaningless September games. Again, he will have very few AA plate appearances under his belt. Unless he starts dominating there, still saying 0 chance.
  15. I would be willing to bet theres 0 chance Arcia is promoted to the Twins this September. And its nearly as unlikely that Aaron Hicks will be promoted this year as well Valencia had something like 300 AAA plate appearances before making his debut, he was also 25 or 26 years old. Arcia wont even have that many AA plate appearances by September, and just turned 21.
  16. Sano just turned 19, lets settle down a bit. There is a difference between a prospect not having the physical tools/ body type to play a position and one who is 19 years old making some errors in low A ball. By all accounts, Sano has the tools to play 3rd, and the most likely reason he would be moved to a corner outfield is if he outgrew 3rd.
  17. 1. The Chicago White Sox will win the AL Central with a record of 88-74. 2. The Minnesota Twins will finish in 5th place in the division with a record of 68-94. 3. Current Twins who will be wearing new uniforms after the trade deadline include: Matt Capps, Carl Pavano (August trade), Francisco Liriano, Nick Blackburn (it will be a RedWings jersey) 4. The Texas Rangers will defeat the Atlanta Braves to win the 2012 World Series.
  18. 1st of all, his ERA in the last calender year is 7, so its not really a small sample size. 2nd of all, you bring up replacement level performance. Do you realize since the start of 2010 he has been worth 1.5 wins LESS than a replacement level player? 3rd, what injury does he currently have that isn't being reported? More than any pitcher I can ever remember he likes to make excuses after getting rocked, but his forearm was fixed in the offseason and he's 100% healthy
  19. I'm with you. Tosoni will be 26 years old in a few days, and has an ops of .580 in AA. Please forget about him as a "prospect". He's a 5th outfielder at best
  20. Adam Walker Pos: 1B/LF Ht./Wt.: 6'5"/ 225lbs B/T: R/R Drafted: 2012 - 97th overall out of Jacksonville University Junior Season: Hit .343 w/ a .426 OBP, 14 doubles, 12 home runs and surprisingly for a guy his size 19 stolen bases From MLB Scouting Report: The son of a former NFL running back, Walker looks the part of a future slugger. The question is if he has the baseball skills to get there. There's no question about his pop at the plate. He might have as much raw power as anyone in the Draft class, with some scouts giving him an 80 on the 20-80 scouting scale. He also has a very good approach to hitting, though his hitting instincts lag behind. That leaves some wondering if he'll learn to tap into that power consistently enough against advanced pitching. A big, physical specimen, Walker has played both first base and the outfield. His arm is well below average, and while some think he could handle playing left field, his defensive home is up in the air. He draws comparisons to Giancarlo Stanton, both in body type and power potential, but there is some concern that he's a Ferrari with a VW engine. Will begin his Professional career in Elizabethton
  21. An argument can be made for Perkins? Can you make it..
  22. Moneyball followed the 2002 Oakland A's, so it was obviously determined before hand which team to follow. In the 3 years leading up to the book, the A's won; 87, 91 and 102 games. The Twins won; 63, 69 and 85.
  23. I agree with your point... Mauer did pitch in High School though (like Buxton, he likely would've been a 1st rounder as a pitcher)
  24. Umm, what exact tools are you talking about that Rosario has better than Buxton? Not Arm, Glove or Speed, thats for sure. The other 2 tools, hit and power, Buxton projects as much higher potential. Will he reach that? Who knows
