    Send Roden down and bring up Jenkins. Martin has more flexibility than Roden and he shouldn't be holding Jenkins back.

    Is Jenkins a better option than Roden if Larnach is traded. I have seen this type of comment before when we talk about players in St. Paul. His stats, pick whatever stat you want isn't where it should be, they shouldn't be up here. People were saying all Lewis is doing is hitting home runs and he shouldn't be brought back. Or Arcia OPS shows he needs to be up here. My point, is he ready to play up here if he is the best option then he should be brought up. So he hits more doubles than HR's when he first comes up, what is wrong with that. I don't think Roden is a long term answer as a starter and I want to see Jenkins begin his learning experience now rather than 2028. Because I am concerned if there is a shortened season next year that they would use that as an excuse not to bring him up.

    I don't want to see top prospects traded for this year. They need to clear some space from the outfield for both Minnesota and St. Paul. They have nine outfielders on the 40 man roster and this doesn't include Keaschall, Jenkins or Rosario. You just can't get enough AB's for everyone with this many on the roster and some of the guys in St. Paul do need AB's to continue to develop. They have to balance the roster out. And I am not convinced that our pitching is that strong in the minors.

    Milwaukee has a payroll of around $133m which is 22nd in the league and yet somehow they have the leagues best record. Yes the Twins are not that high, but that is basically one or two more players, do you really think we would be competing for the best record. It is not all about money, Falvey has left this organization in a bad spot and it is not all on ownership other than they should have fired him two years ago.

    Gray has no value, they did the right thing by sending him down but you would probably need to send a top prospect to get a team to take him. If Larnach is traded, Jenkins needs to be called up, Roden is not the answer.

    None of those moves excite me, it would probably be Rashi because he is one of their latest reclamation projects.

    I realize change can take time, but I am not seeing much change. They moved people around, that quite honestly could have been done at the end of last season. They are still very platoon heavy, Shelton seems to push back a little more than Rocco. But the playing time of Gray is exhibit 1. I am still not convinced that it won't be more rearranging of the chairs on the Titanic than any meaningful changes without a change in leadership. And I am talking about every aspect of the baseball operations from player development, training, to roster construction and everything in between. Most of the decision makers in the front office were brought in Falvey and obviously they believe in what they were doing. And it is human nature to struggle with looking at things objectively in this situation.

    They have no starters in St. Paul, they are all bulk guys, the same as Rojas and Paredes so not sure if that is a move that needs to be made.

    Gray was left on this roster two months longer than he should have been. Is defense important or not, if it is Kreidler should have been up here before Gray. This organization places too much emphasis on the platoon splits, they need to focus on quality. The philosophy has produced a .500 record in 10 years and one playoff win. And has left us with players like Garlick and Margot. At some point you need to do an internal review and see that something isn't working and change it up. Which is why I want Zoll gone at the end of the year so this organization may actually get an objective review of what is working and what isn't.

    And who is going to sit for Roden to play. He has not done anything in just under 200 AB's to warrant moving people out of the lineup. My fear is they are going to platoon him with Keaschall and that basically puts Keaschall on the bench. Keaschall has been hitting since a slow April and this is how they would reward him, I am not sure what message that would send. I am all for sending Gray down, but Roden is in a tough spot in that I don't know if there is time for him to show what he can do. I do believe his ceiling is as a fourth outfielder.

    He had 5 solid seasons with the Twins, I could care less who he was traded to, his time with the Twins was very productive.

    I really hope there is a way they could find to keep Jeffers, I get it if he needs to be traded but it is not my first choice. But I am not convinced our catching situation is solved for 2027 with Caratini and Jackson. Yes Caratini had a lights out June, but he is already falling back to the norm in July. And is May was as subpar as June was tremendous. Caratini has never caught more than 87 games and that 5 years ago and catchers don't age well. Jackson might be a good backup for 30 to 50 games but is Caratini up to carrying the load and maintain some form of average or close to average production for the other 100 to 110 games. I wouldn't look at one month and say we can get similar play for the next season and a half, their history does not support that they will keep this level of production going forward. While it may be a foregone conclusion that they can't keep Jeffers, but we may missing him by the end of the year.

    At least they have finally committed to the best defensive shortstop available. Lee can back up if Kreidler needs a day off. The big question to be answered now is who starts in RF or will they platoon Keaschall and Roden.

    I agree these moves should have been done in spring training. My only nitpick is what does ownership have to do with where players play. Other than changing the personnel making these decisions, which was already done before the season, what are they supposed to do.

    Matthews has started 12 games and 6 of them he has given up two or less runs while going for at least 6 innings. He has had three blow ups which he needs to improve. But for a #4 pitcher which is what he is currently, those are pretty good numbers and he is averaging just under 6 innings per start. Do you want Sim back instead, I will take Matthews over that all day. He has 37 career starts, I still think that he can continue to improve and show that July is a blip.

    And no on Miller, we are not that close to contending to get a lockdown closer. There is a reason the Athletics moved on from him.

    Why would you trade Lee when you have no immediate replacement that would upgrade 3B. I get Keaschall from the standpoint that we have a glut of outfielders, I would prefer he stay but could understand if he was moved. But moving Lee at his age feels like it is a move for the sake of making a move unless we get someone better in return.

    This discussion began with the point that Kreidler would be wanted by any team playing for a World Series. That is very much a matter of opinion. And in my opinion a bad take. The facts are he had a .133 batting average coming into the season and there weren't a lot of teams looking for his services. The Twins didn't even think he could be their utility player coming out of spring training, he was beat out by Tristan Gray. He is the best defensive shortstop on this team currently and has had a good month. But to extrapolate that into thinking he is a top tier utility player that any team would want is rose colored glasses thinking in my opinion. If he remains as the utility player for this year, I am fine with that, but I think the bar should be raised for that position.

    Just because you don't like a take doesn't make it bad. The Twins don't even believe in this guy as much as others do on here.
