  1. Engelb Vielma beginning to hit is really intriguing. He's not often factored in the future SS talks but if he can keep hitting he definitely has the glove to stick there. Plus, he just turned 21 and is very young for his level.
  2. Santana has the better defensive tools, Escobar is the better defender. There's a difference.
  3. What is going on in this thread?!?!?
  4. I honestly have no idea why this kid is the starting shortstop right now; he has been absolutely horrendous this year. He had posted a WAR of -1.6 before going 0-4 with 2 Ks today (good for second worst in the majors behind Rene Rivera who's at -1.7) and his OPS sits at .521. You have an above average defensive/average offensive shortstop in Eduardo Escobar, with a hot-hitting Eduardo Nunez to spell him every now and then. Just stick Escobar there, not left field, and be done with it.
  5. Do you really think he was thinking "this pitch looks good but I better not swing because Aaron Hicks is 2-2 and hitting after me"?
  6. 7 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.......0 runs
  7. Danny Santana's ongoing quest to post the lowest WAR in baseball history continues.
  8. He's 7-9 in SB attempts now this year, not too bad.
  9. I think Rosario's performance this season has been overrated but I don't think you can send him down. There should be room for both of them on this team.
  10. Bonnes is saying Hunter looks like he might be limping Anything being said about that in the broadcast?
  11. As impressive as Sano's plate discipline is, Rosario's is equally unimpressive. He's 5-27 this month and could be beginning a long slump.
  12. Put in Escobar for Santana and we'd really be in business.
  13. It would have looked pretty good if they would have gotten a base hit after Nunez stole second.
  14. This kid is having some really impressive ABs early on. It's really early and teams probably haven't found his weakness yet (looks like it could be high fastballs), but I think he'll be able to stick the rest of the year. I'm much more confident that he'll be able to keep it going than I am with Rosario.
  15. Is Bert really comparing Tommy Hunter's career to Trevor May's?
  16. Sorry about that, my evil twin who happens to be an Orioles fan took over the keyboard and posted this. I trusted Duensing all along.
  17. Sano has had some really good ABs tonight.
  18. He probably shouldn't have had to catch it like that, but......holy ****!
  19. Rotation- Hughes Santana May Gibson Milone Bullpen- Perkins Fien Boyer Pelfrey Achter Graham Rogers
  20. Nope, just seemed like a good long weekend to make the drive down. Caught a game at Wrigley and ate italian beef, Chicago dogs, and deep dish until I couldn't move so it was pretty typical in that regard. We saw plenty of deadheads though.
  21. Sure, get rid of Thompson or Duensing and add him as another bat. I'd take just about anyone over those two and sticking with 13 pitchers though.
