I'm Brian! No, i'm not really brian, i was just pulling your leg... (too lazy to look up the actual quote...) We still have a lead, and perhaps we'll pad it this inning?
There was a collision between Nuñez and Dozier on a shallow center field fly that bounced out of Nuñez glove for a double in the second inning. It is speculated that has something to do with the substitution...
The future will be here when pencils have auto-correct. Next thing ya know, bats will also have auto-correct... (I think that's going to be my new theory of slumps/streaks)
Sharp baserunning by Arcia. Looks like he was living dangerously, but he got back to 2nd on the pick off move and the snap throw from the catcher, and advances on a grounder to 3b. But he is stranded at 3rd... Oh well.
It's also okay to catch a day work after a night game... Work is important. And i don't think you were late. Thread existed before game started. Yeah, let's see how Nuñez does at his normal position.
Thanks. That seems like the obvious way to do it. But it feels like a slight statistical reward for hitting into double plays to not be guilty of leaving a runner on... That's all that made it seem like it might go the other way, i guess. I'm sure some fancy advance stat could correct for it if anyone actually cared...
Is it considered taunting to let lots of base runners on only to strand them? (and i've always wondered if the runner doubled up in a double play is considered to be stranded for stat reasons, particularly to end an inning)
I too think this is a worthwhile experiment. When should we schedule it? His last start before the all-star break? And you can put me down for at least one positive comment regarding Correia, and probably more for the Twins defense...
Not sure it affects the Projection that much... The 9 run loss is mostly balanced out by yesterday's 8 run win. 1-2 series outscored 17-19. I'm just sad we lost our first rubber game of the season. I have not yet lost faith in the rubber band though! And yeah, i wish to associate myself with the above sentiment of makin' a game fun in spite of the outcome.
Hmmm... 2 grand slams. Things are looking pretty grim for a rubber game. Can we score 3 runs per out in this inning? I still hold out hope, especially with that aforementioned bench we can call on.
