    Wait... I don't follow this. Does a GIDP count as two atbats or something? I could see if we were starting with runs to figure it out, but not when starting with atbats... Also apparently hit by pitches happened too. Anyway, i went and added the individual pitchers' batters faced number from the bottom of the box score and got 47.

    Still deciding what i think... Is that what they'll enshrine him in the hall of fame as? We may also have to rewrite the who's on first sketch for a modern audience.

    How do radar gun readings affect our tried and true pitch to contact philosophies? Free agent nothing, we got the plot for our next variant of Damn Yankees. (Contract may be league minimum, but make sure there's a sinning... er, signing bonus.)

    This is a kind gesture to the disenfranchised society of Fort Myers. But if they really want to make a difference, they'll let them throw out a first pitch in a real game in Target Field. Or even the play offs where it might make a difference.

    Hey.! I wasn't hospitalized. I just had to lie down for a little bit after a taunting glimpse of the heights we will soar to with this signing. Geez, how come its my fault when others overreact?

    I haven't been paying attention... But i see they lost 2 road games recently (going 3-2 on the road trip) Congrats on the Islanders come back, too. Normal power plays end when the player-up team scores, right? (not on majors etc.). But they still count the full length as penalty minutes? Oh... i suppose the player stays in the box, the team is just allowed substitute for them once a goal score?

    Thanks for posting this. I don't think i'd seen the catch at Fenway before. That was epic! Something like 5 feet over the wall, and his struggle to keep from falling into the bullpen! If he had fallen, would the catch have counted? And argument could have been made he wasn't still on the field of play... (i think it would have, but am too lazy to see actual rules, much as a basketball player can still be falling out of bounds as long as he gets rid of it before landing) Still, technique of holding onto the top of the fence with his off hand was a joy to behold.If only Byron was indestructible and got to try stuff like this!
